Chicken and Brussels Sprouts

Brussels sprouts are beneficial for having a healthy vision, strong bones, and the digestive system.  It has vitamin K, vitamin A, and vitamin C. This vegetable can be added to soups, as a side dish, and in salads. It is recommended to eat brussels sprouts once a week to get the necessary nutrients. Brussels sprouts can be a side dish for chicken, salmon, and turkey.

Brussels sprouts can also be sauteed with olive oil, pepper, and a pinch of salt. Pure Ground Pepper gives a thyroid boost. A considerably basic chicken recipe is making chicken with pure ground black pepper and Brussels sprouts. Also, you can use frozen Brussels sprouts to shorten your cooking time. Here is the recipe for making this delightful meal.

Ingredients:

1 Chicken Package
1 Red Bell Pepper
1 Green Bell Pepper
Pure Ground Black Pepper
Salt (Optional)
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Saltine or Unsalted Crackers (Optional)

First, wash the chicken and remove the fat from the chicken. Second, rub pure ground black pepper and a little bit of salt on both sides of the chicken. The salt is optional especially if you need to reduce your salt intake. Wash and remove the seeds of the bell peppers. Slice the bell peppers. After that use one skillet and place the chicken with the bell peppers with water.

Once the chicken is soft, place the olive oil in another skillet. Then, slowly place the chicken inside the skillet with the olive oil. Cook the chicken in oil for a few minutes or until it is golden brown. Next, boil the Brussels sprouts or microwave one frozen bag of Brussels sprouts. These brussels sprouts were from a frozen bag. Autumn Poetry in Watercolor Paintings


A fun way to write poetry is by using a painting as the main theme of the poem. Sometimes, seeing a painting can inspire you to write a poem or a short story.   It is an incredible way to write down your feelings.  You will also practice your writing skills on another level. Pick a painting that you like online or make your own watercolor paintings. 

 Write down how you feel and what you see. The best part is that it does not have to rhyme. For example, I made two watercolor paintings and wrote two short poems about the autumn season. The first poem is about autumn leaves. The second poem is about autumn trees. Enjoy!

How to end Addictions?

Addictions cause too much turmoil. Often, addictions make families dysfunctional. Individually, addictions are hard to understand especially when your partner is addicted to alcohol, cigarettes, and porn. Sometimes, you cannot find the correct words to make them end their excessive consumption of alcohol, smoking, and from viewing erotica. Being their moral support might not be enough.

Seek professional help, individual therapy, or group therapy to overcome addictions. Depending on the type of addiction, the person might need individual therapy and family therapy. Educate yourself to understand your partner's addiction. It will help you understand how addictions change the brain's mechanism in distinguishing reality from fantasy. Having an addiction becomes obsessive, abusive, and compulsive.

Other times, addictions cause the person to feel aggressive and withdrawn. It can be difficult to see your partner go through the different stages of withdrawal. Do not provide alcohol, cigarettes, or anything that they are addicted to.  Do not give them money either. Yet, provide them kindness and let your partner accept his addiction. National Wellness Month


The month of August is the perfect month for thinking and beginning a wellness habit. Learning how to control your emotions, adding physical exercise, and mental exercises to your routine will help in the long run. Wellness is more than self-care and reducing your stress; It is a way to control your physical, intellectual, and emotional self. Mandarin Essential Oil for the Nervous System

National Eye Exam Month in August


Getting an eye exam every year or every two years can prevent eye infections and it detects eye diseases. Eating healthy and resting your eyes from too much screen time on electronic devices may protect your eyes and brain. Too much screen time on electronics causes eye strain and headaches over time. If you wear contact lenses or eyeglasses, it is recommended to check your eyes once a year. The entire month of August is dedicated to bringing awareness to eye exams which are called, National Eye Exam Month.

Children should get eye exams by the age of three to check for eye movement, eye contact, and vision changes. Also, an optometrist can check for watery eyes, red itchy eyes, and other symptoms of allergies and eye infections. Eye exams can also detect cholesterol, high blood pressure, and diabetes. Know the Warning Signs (Domestic Violence)


Domestic violence has increased due to too much stress at home or at work. Losing a job, not having enough to eat, and not feeling loved are a few reasons that domestic violence occurs at home. However, knowing the warning signs of abuse and domestic violence may prevent it from happening. Domestic violence leaves emotional and physical scars to the man or woman. One of the warning signs is the physical evidence on the body such as bruises on the face and other areas of the body.

Yet, there are times when the abuser physically attacks and leaves bruises in areas that can be hidden with clothes. The second warning sign is when the abuser starts controlling their partner's way of dressing. The abuser makes their partner dress more conservative in public and to dress more provocatively at home. The third sign is when the abuser sets a schedule, gives them an allowance. Often times, following their partner's whereabouts. The stalker syndrome makes the abuser feel more in control and manipulative.  The abuser feels more powerful towards their partner.

The need of having control over their partner can be caused by being insecure, being abused themselves, or by thinking of their own needs. The fourth warning sign is when the abuser verbally abuses their partner and making their partner feel worthless. Most of the time, the abuser takes their partner for granted and has no empathy for their feelings. Sometimes, the warning signs are ignored thinking their partner will change. Yet, an abuser does not change and gets worse in the relationship. But, knowing the warning signs of domestic violence can help someone that is already in an abusive relationship. Hand Painted Mason Jars for Kitchen Storage

Mason jars were invented in 1858 by John Landis Mason. Today, mason jars are used for kitchen and bathroom storage items. Sometimes, mason jars are used as vases. However, mason jars give a warm inviting look to your kitchen. You can use spray paint or acrylic paint to paint your Mason jars. 

Mason jars are one of my favorite items for painting and for use as kitchen storage.  Painting mason jars make an effortless way to decorate and store kitchen items. Some kitchen items such as tea bags, coffee stirrers, and sugar can be stored and secured in mason jars. The best part is that you can recycle pickle jars for this painting project. Here is the tutorial for making these hand-painted mason jars.

Materials:

4 Different Colors of Acrylic Paint

(Antique White) (Blue) (Red) (Yellow)

Paintbrushes

3 Mason Jars or Pickle Jars with Lids

Letter Stencil (Optional)

High Gloss Topcoat 

Pencil

Begin by removing the labels of the pickle jars. Wash the jars and wait for the jars to get dry. Then, paint one or two coats of paint onto the jars. You can paint the whole jar or make a label size shape with the paint. Wait for the acrylic paint to get dry. Next, use a letter stencil and a pencil to spell the words, Coffee, Tea, and Sugar. You can use any word for your kitchen storage jar. 




After that paint, each letter with different color paint. Wait for the letters to dry. Then, paint flowers and lines. Wait for the paint to get dry. Last, use a high gloss topcoat paint on top of the painted design. Wait for it to get dry before using the jars. Have fun painting your Mason jars.
