Three Ways to Celebrate National Poetry Month
The whole month of April is the best time to write, read, and learn about poetry. One way to celebrate National Poetry Month is by reading to your children. Reading about your favorite poems that you read when you were their age will build their vocabulary. Also, teaching them about different writing styles such as Haikus and Cinquains. After, your children can practice writing different poems.
The second way is by cutting out words or underlining words from magazines. Your children can cut the words and paste the words onto cards. Similarly, you can use words from crossword puzzles to make your own poetry. The third way is by reading the biographies of poets along with their poems.
