Autism Spectrum Disorder is a developmental disability that affects learning, language, behavior, and physical aspects. It affects the brain making it difficult to socialize and interact. Three levels distinguish this disorder. Autism Spectrum Disorder makes it hard to learn and to pay attention. Often there is repetition in behavior and movements.

Yet, ASD makes it hard to comprehend as a parent or as a teacher. However, the whole month of April is dedicated to National Autism Awareness Month. Also, April 2nd is World Autism Awareness Day. Blue is used to bring awareness of Autism. You can have a blue light bulb hanging on your porch for National Autism Awareness Month.

Additionally, educate yourself about Autism and the three levels of this disorder. Autism is a brain disorder that is so complex to comprehend. It can be a mild to the severe stage for learning, communicating, and interacting with other people. It makes it hard in forming relationships and responding to the sounds in nature. The causes for a child to get autism is due to infections during a pregnancy, environmental factors, genetics, and a low birth weight.

The symbol that is used to promote awareness for autism is the puzzle piece. There is a puzzle piece ribbon which was created in 1999 by the Autism Society of America and is still used today. As well as a blue puzzle piece that is used to bring awareness and to recognize the abilities, strengths, and the challenges that this disorder brings to a child, adults, and to families. Furthermore, there are t-shirts that has a puzzle printed on them to help support this cause. You can wear a puzzle piece ribbon to promote awareness of World Autism Awareness Day.

If you are a parent or a teacher, you can learn the learning styles of how to teach children with autism. As well as using visual aids and hands-on learning if you are teaching students with developmental disorders. Avoid too many sounds and distractions so they can learn. Overall having ASD makes a student learn differently and excel in their school grade. Here are more resources about autism spectrum disorder.
