National Blueberry Month (Blueberry Smoothie)
Since July 2003, National Blueberry Month has been celebrated every year. Blueberries make a delicious addition to milk smoothies. This berry is good for your cardiovascular system. It is also good for your skeletal system. Blueberries have vitamin C, vitamin K, fiber, and potassium.
You can celebrate National Blueberry Month by adding blueberries to your salads, and smoothies, or eating them by themselves. Blueberries might help lower your cholesterol. It is also beneficial for your blood pressure. Consult with your primary care physician before adding blueberries to your diet. Here is a recipe for making this quick smoothie.
Ingredients:
One small box of blueberries
Five strawberries
Almond milk
Plain Greek yogurt or Vanilla yogurt
Blender
Smoothie Time:
Add almond milk and plain Greek yogurt in a blender. Then wash and rinse the blueberries. Next, add the blueberries. Wash and rinse the strawberries. I used five leftover strawberries and sliced the strawberries in half. After that add the sliced strawberries.
Blend everything until it is smooth. This smoothie serves two people. Add sugar or use vanilla yogurt instead of plain Greek yogurt. This smoothie can last two days in the refrigerator. Happy National Blueberry Month!
