Three Things to Do on a Rainy Day
Rainy
days are pleasant days to relax and practice meditation. However, sometimes
when there is thunder, it can make it difficult to meditate especially if you
get scared easily by the loud noises. Practicing calligraphy can be a form of
meditation. Calligraphy can help quiet your mind as you practice the different
handwriting styles. It helps you concentrate more and retain information that
you want to memorize.
Some
guidelines can help you practice calligraphy so you can get the correct size of
the letters and the position of the letters. Also, you can use graph paper or
calligraphy paper to help you get started. Moreover, calligraphy can help the
brain in the learning process. Also, the more you practice calligraphy, your
handwriting can improve, and you can develop innovative writing skills. Lastly,
calligraphy is a fun hobby to do even when there are no rainy days.
Calligraphy
can be incorporated into your mindfulness practice. It helps you slow down. As
well as making you feel self-confident with your handwriting. Take pauses
between your handwriting and do slow breathing exercises to feel relaxed. You
can also use regular line paper to practice calligraphy and to write down your
feelings. This form of handwriting can help you practice self-discovery.
Another
item to do on rainy days is to practice meditation intentions. Find the purpose
to meditate such as meditating for self-confidence, joy, forgiveness, or for
helping you relax before you decide. Practice Intention Meditation which helps
you slow down. Rainy days make you slow down and practice patience while you
wait for the rain to stop. Knowing the purpose of meditating and how you want
to feel during your meditation session is what the word intention means.
Some say
intentions are like positive affirmations because you use the word “I” in each
phrase. An example of an intention is “I intend to love myself.” Intentions can
be written down and can also be short enough to repeat while you meditate.
However, positive affirmations are about what is occurring in the present
moment. In contrast, intentions are what you want to feel and experience in the
future.
Yet, you
can make a list of intentions each time you meditate or have the list ready for
meditating for that day. Intentions are needed to make you feel optimistic.
Intention meditation can be done for forty-five minutes or less. Additionally,
this form of meditation can help you develop healthy habits and can help you
solve some of your dilemmas. Here is a brief list of intentions.
- I intend to love myself.
