National Stretching Day 2025 & Exercise Tips
Since
2022, National Stretching Day is dedicated to practicing stretches with a
physical therapist, fitness instructor, or with a coach. Every year on December
11th, you can practice stretching for range of motion and for relaxation.
National Stretching Day was founded by Jorden Gold, Stretch
Zone. On this day, you can do group stretches or practice stretching with
someone individually. As well as using the hashtag, National Stretching Day.
Plan your day by
incorporating stretches in the morning, afternoon, or in the evening. Select
stretches that you might want to do for improving circulation and for reducing
stiffness. Additionally, if you are recovering from a sprain, you can practice
stretching with a physical therapist. If you want to improve your posture and
balance for dancing, you can do warm up stretches such as shoulder stretches
with a towel, calf stretch, and hip flexor stretch. Using towels, stretching
straps, and an adjustable inclined board can be useful for doing stretches
safely.
Personalize your stretching
routine. Modify yoga poses or your stretching exercises. Before you begin
stretching exercises, have a clean spacious area and wear comfortable clothing.
Make sure the clothing is not too long to prevent injuries or falls.
Nonetheless, having assisted stretching is necessary for reducing your stress
and for your physical wellness.
However, you can also do
stretching and do Chair Yoga. As well as purchasing exercise cards specifically
for stretching. Each day select five exercises from the desk workout cards or
yoga pose cards to help you improve your range of motion. Additionally, make a
music playlist to play classical music, instrumental music, and random music to
help you stretch and meditate at the same time. Do not force your body to
stretch too much but do stretches for at least ten minutes or twenty minutes a
day or every other day.
Yoga Stretching can be
included in your stretching routine for improving your balance and posture.
Also, stretching to help you cool down after exercising can help you slow down
and meditate. You can focus on your legs, hips, back, and shoulders. Alternatively,
you can focus on stretching your body for improving your sleep or for the
digestive system. Deep squats, Seated Twists, and other stretches can help
release tension that you might be feeling.
To prevent
injuries and to recover from running, you can do hip stretches by sitting on
the floor. Also, practice lower back stretches by using your yoga mat. Lastly,
hamstring stretches and interior thigh stretches can be helpful for reducing
pain. Always consult with your primary physician. Here are websites with more
