Winter Allergies, Tiredness, & Yoga
The
winter season can make you feel lethargic and have allergies. Yet, practicing
Yoga poses such as Melting Heart pose, Cobra pose, and other poses might give
you relief from allergies. Also, if you are feeling tired, you can do the Half
Moon pose, Plow pose, Bridge pose, Legs Up the Wall pose, and other poses which
can help for allergies. Winter allergies and winter tiredness can be managed by
practicing Yoga or other mind and body exercises. As well as helping you to
relax and exercise with the family.
Practice outside
and always check the winter weather forecast. If you are feeling tired because
of lack of sleep, make sure you get seven hours of sleep as an adult or nine
hours of sleep if you are teenager. Nonetheless, keep track of what you eat and
get evaluated for vitamin deficiency especially if you feel low energy. Begin
practicing yoga for five to ten minutes a day or every other day depending on
your schedule. Also, if you get sleepy in the mid-afternoon, you can do some
yoga poses to help you reduce your stress and at your own pace.
The winter Yoga
routine can be consistent and can be practiced at the same time every day. You
can purchase family pajamas and practice Yoga while wearing your winter
pajamas. Practice Sun Salutations and then you can do Standing Forward Bend
pose. Alternatively, you can do the Fish pose, Shoulder Stand pose, and the
Tree pose while focusing on your breathing. Then you can do the Fire log
pose.
If you feel tired
in the morning, you can do the Corpse pose and get up slowly from your bed.
Then, do stretches, twists, and neck rolls. After that practice the Triangle
pose, Spinx pose, Wide-Legged Forward Fold pose, Twisted Chair pose, and the
Hero pose. Take a walk and do slide exercises. Slide exercises can help you
feel flexible and balanced.
An example of a
slide exercise is the Snow Angel movement which can be done anytime throughout
the day. In addition, you can practice Skater Lunges as a slide exercise before
or after practicing yoga. Lastly, you can also do the Mountain Climber slide exercise
to improve your flexibility and muscle tone. Use an air purifier and reduce
dust, pet dander, and other indoor allergens. Nonetheless, always follow your
medical winter allergy treatment in addition to practicing yoga.
Change your yoga
clothes every six to twelve months depending on the reasons why your clothes
need to be replaced. Sometimes purchasing yoga clothes with a winter theme, a
yoga mat with a winter scene, and getting winter decoration for your meditation
room can make you embrace the season. If you feel cold inside your meditation
room while practicing yoga, you can wear thermal or wear layers. Always consult
with your doctor to take care of winter allergies and before practicing yoga
for your allergies. Here are websites with more yoga poses and tips to reduce
