Eye Injury Prevention Month
Protecting your eyes during the summer months is important to keep your eyes healthy, to prevent vision loss, and to prevent eye diseases. Consuming healthy meals that contain Zinc, vitamin E, and vitamin C is one way to protect your eyes. Also, drinking water keeps your eyes healthy. Wear goggles when you do outdoor activities. The whole month of July is dedicated to Eye Injury Prevention because most eye injuries occur at home. Check your vision once a year with your ophthalmologist.
Depending on the activity, wearing safety glasses protects your eyes from eye injuries. When using chemicals, wear goggles. Wear computer glasses to help the eyes from not straining. Knowing when to use the right protective eyewear can protect your eyes from debris, chemicals, and other items from getting into your eyes. Here are more resources about taking care of your eyes.
