Jalapeños & Sardine Sandwich (Sandwich Month)
It is National Sandwich
Month! Sardines make a delicious sandwich for lunch or for an early dinner.
Also, sardine sandwiches can be made ahead of time for a family picnic. These
sandwiches go well with lemonade or with iced tea, especially during the
hottest month of the summer season. Nonetheless, sardine sandwiches are
prepared in many ways.
In this example, two
slices of wheat bread were used to make the sardine sandwich. However, you can
use any type of bread and cut the bread in a triangular shape, rectangular
shape, or into small squares. Nonetheless, sardine sandwiches are beneficial
for the skeletal system, cardiovascular system, and the nervous system. Also,
sardine sandwiches can be made with mustard, honey Dijon mustard, and mayonnaise.
Here is the recipe for making this sardine sandwich with jalapeños.
Ingredients:
Wheat bread or any
sliced bread
Olives
One can of Sardines
Leftover salad iceberg
mix
Jalapeños
Tomatoes
Onions
Mayonnaise
Sandwich Time:
Toast two slices of
bread. Next, add mayonnaise or light mayonnaise. After that add leftover
iceberg salad mix and jalapeños. Slice onions and tomatoes. Add slices
of onions and tomatoes with olives on the side.
Last, open one can of
sardines and drain the water from the can. Unless you get sardines in oil, you can
keep the oil from the sardines to place onto the bread. Add a little bit of lemon
juice to the sardines. Then, place the sardines onto the bread. Happy National
Sandwich Month!
