Setting Limits for Inner Peace (International Peace)
The
entire month of August is International Peace Month. Practicing inner peace is
believing in yourself and loving yourself. It is getting to know yourself. But
it is necessary to be aware and to be alone with your thoughts. Yet, one must
listen to that inner voice and accept oneself.
Although
loneliness might make one feel guilty, sad, or feel pressured to make
decisions; Achieving inner peace is the ultimate desire for one's well-being.
Be honest with yourself and validate your feelings. Learn to trust yourself.
Listen to yourself and be aware of your comfort level.
Getting to know
yourself permits you to focus on yourself with love, respect, and with empathy.
It does not make you disagree, dislike, or feel rejection with yourself.
However, getting to know yourself allows you to continue apologizing, be
truthful, and have a better understanding of oneself. It is a prolonged process
but finding compatibility with your thoughts and your body language. Inspire
yourself and build encouragement without listening to your doubts.
Inner peace makes
you feel calm, comfortable, and completely safe with your thoughts. Keep in
mind that you might struggle with verbal abuse from the past or harsh comments
from your childhood. Letting go of rejection, insecurities, or internal
conflict with yourself needs to be treated through a psychologist or
professional counseling. Moreover, creating boundaries is the best way to set
limits for your inner peace. Setting limits can permit you to get to know
yourself.
No one can utterly
understand you and believe that they know you well. Even if they are family or
friendships of ten years, only you can get to know yourself with authenticity.
Practice gratitude through mindfulness and apologize less to yourself. Learn to
adapt and adjust to changes in your personal life and with your job. Regardless
of the changes, be confident and develop self-acceptance.
Setting limits is
about saying no without feeling ashamed, without fears, or without feeling
pressured. It permits you to make decisions carefully and with confidence
without reassuring them with someone else in excess. Face your fears,
acknowledge your attitude, and focus on your health. Build self-confidence
through self-reflection, self-acceptance, and self-reliance. Avoid
perfectionism, insults, and surrounding yourself with bad attitudes.
Dedicate some
time to feel inner peace with gratitude and be persistent with your personal
limits. Communicate to yourself and to others what your boundaries are. Create
a list of your boundaries or frame your list to remind you of what you need to
achieve your inner peace. Every night practice self-reflection through
journaling, listening to music, or with positive affirmations to release
tension. By doing this you can feel comfortable and improve your sleep.
Love yourself
with kindness and without letting anyone make you feel less of yourself. Keep a
journal by your bed and write in it when you cannot sleep. Try to be
self-reliant, self-expressive, and enjoy the process of self-discovery. Do not
forget about yourself and your inner peace especially during frustration,
worrying, or when making important decisions. Here are resources about setting
limits for inner peace.
