How to Make Lip Scrubs at Home?
Lip scrubs can be made at home using a few ingredients from your kitchen. You can use sugar, coffee grounds, cinnamon, honey, milk, and oils. I would not recommend using salt for scrubbing the dry flakes from the lips. Mainly because salt can make the skin drier and more sensitive. However, sea salt can be used to exfoliate your lips as long as you do not scrub too much.
Begin by making your scrub with two ingredients. You can choose sugar, coffee grounds, cinnamon, or sea salt. Next, you can choose milk, coconut oil, olive oil, or another oil to make your lips smooth while you exfoliate the dry areas. Then, apply a small amount of the scrub onto a toothbrush. Move the toothbrush in a circular motion.
Last, rinse the scrub and use a soft towel to remove the scrub. You can apply Vaseline or lip balm after you exfoliate your lips. It is recommended to scrub your lips once or twice a week. However, do not exfoliate your lips too much because they will get sensitive. Lip scrubs make it easier to apply your lip balm, lipstick, or lip liners.
Before you apply a lip scrub make sure your lips do not have cold sores, cracked areas, or cuts. It might make your lips sting or have a burning sensation especially if you are using sea salt on your lips. Avoid the areas of the cold sores or wait for your lips to heal before using a lip scrub. Lip scrubs can be incorporated into your night or your morning routine. Here are links for making your lip scrubs.
