Alternate Nostril Breathing & Peace of Mind
Finding
peace may be a challenging task when you are surrounded by negativity or when
you feel anxiety. Also, you might be having a good day when someone negatively
comes to you. You might have a nervous habit when you feel negative energy. Therefore,
finding peace in your daily tasks might not be easy to obtain. However,
learning to relax your mind and body will help you feel peaceful.
Lie down or sit
down and do alternate nostril breathing. Practice breathing with your left
nostril by covering your right nostril for two seconds. Alternate your
breathing with your right nostril by covering your left nostril. Then, repeat
your breathing slowly. You can do this with your eyes opened or closed.
Alternate nostril
breathing can be done before, during meditation, or after meditation. It calms
the nervous system and your mind. If you have problems breathing through one
nostril, then this relaxation technique is not for you. It takes time to
practice this technique. You might need to use an essential oil diffuser such
as eucalyptus, mint, or peppermint to help open your nasal passages.
Make sure you are
in a quiet environment. Practice alternate nostril breathing when you need a
quick way to relax. You can do counting meditation with this breathing
technique. Consult with your doctor before doing alternate nostril breathing if
