National Homemade Soup Day
Every year on February 4th, you can have a
delicious homemade soup. Soup is so beneficial for the immune system. This day
is called National Homemade Soup Day. People around the world can share their
recipes on National Homemade Soup Day. Also, making soup at home will warm you
up and your home.
There are many ways to make homemade soup. You can add meat, chicken, or fish and vegetables to make a delicious soup. Additionally, you can add pasta and vegetables. Furthermore, you can make a meatless soup like in this example. Here is the recipe for making this homemade soup.
Ingredients:
Frozen Petite whole green beans
Frozen Yellow, Green, and White
Cauliflower
1 Butternut Squash
2 Zucchini
1 Whole Cabbage
One bunch of green onions
1 or 2 Yucca Root
Spices:
Chicken Bouillon
Curry
Turmeric
Teriyaki Sauce (Optional)
Preparation and Cooking Time:
Begin by washing the vegetables except for the
frozen ones. Chop and slice the cabbage into small pieces. Peel the butternut
squash and chop the ends. Chop the squash in several pieces. Remove the seeds
of the butternut squash.
Next, in one pot add the cabbage and butternut
squash. After that slice the zucchini. Slice the green onions. Let it cook in
water for several minutes. Add the frozen green beans.
Continue cooking the vegetables. Then, add the curry,
turmeric, chicken bouillon and stir everything. Peel and chop the yucca into
small pieces. Cook the yucca root in another pot with water. Last, add the
frozen cauliflower to the main pot.
Cook everything for one hour in a half or until
the vegetables are soft. Once all the vegetables are soft, serve the yucca root
in soup bowls. Add the rest of the vegetables and broth to the soup bowls. This
soup serves four people. You can add teriyaki sauce to give a sweet and salty
flavor to the vegetable soup. Enjoy!
