What is Qigong?
Qigong is a repetitive
exercise for the mind and body. This exercise uses the five Chinese elements of
wood, earth, water, fire, and metal. It is beneficial for cardiovascular,
muscular, and respiratory health. Qi means breath, air, and energy. Gong means
work.
By practicing Qigong,
you will have better body posture and concentration. Qigong is a combination of
meditation and body movement. You can stand up, sit on a chair, or walk while
focusing on your breathing while moving your hands in various positions. This
exercise also helps with your emotions. Qigong can be practiced in the morning
for eight minutes a day.
It is like Tai Chi
because of the slow movement and breathing techniques. Except that Tai-Chi is a
type of movement meditation. Qigong focuses on meditation and internal thoughts.
Both exercises help you relax and focus on your breathing. Here are more
resources about Qigong.
