National Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month
Taking care of your allergies throughout the seasons is necessary for your well-being and your health. The entire month of May is National Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month. Eat fruits and vegetables that have vitamin C. For example, eat a grapefruit, or an orange, or make lemonade to improve your immune system and prevent allergies. Remove your outdoor shoes before entering your home and wear your indoor shoes.
Clean your floors
or vacuum your floors to eliminate indoor dust. Remove the dust from your fans
and change the filters from your air conditioning. Dust items that accumulate
dust and wash your blankets every two weeks. Read the ingredients of laundry
detergents or purchase laundry soap for sensitive skin. Also, use gloves when
cleaning to avoid an allergic rash.
Take a bath or a
shower until there is enough steam in the bathroom. Change your clothes
immediately after exercising outside. Avoid being outside when the humidity is high,
and the pollen count is high. Wear a mask when cleaning and painting your
rooms. Clean your home often, especially if you are allergic to dust.
Make a list of
items that you have allergies to avoid those items such as perfume ingredients
or scented soaps. Purchase hypoallergenic perfumes and soaps to avoid allergic
reactions. Use your inhaler, nasal spray, or take an antihistamine. Do not
sleep with your pets. Read the labels of your clothes to make sure you are not
allergic to fabrics.
Use a humidifier
and dehumidifier. Try acupuncture for your allergies. If you have asthma and
allergies, you may want to try allergy shots. Consult with your primary doctor
for more recommendations for your allergies. Here are websites about treating
your allergies.
