Diabetes Awareness Month in November

The whole month of November is dedicated to Diabetes Awareness Month. The symptoms vary depending on the type of diabetes that is in the blood. Weight loss, vomiting, and nausea are the symptoms of Type 1 diabetes. The other symptoms are frequent urination, frequent thirst, itchy and dry skin which are symptoms of Type 2 diabetes. Also, some pregnant women are diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes.

Diabetes can be controlled by monitoring your sugar levels. Eating smaller portions and having snacks in between your meals. Always follow your doctor's instructions with medications and with the insulin dose. Check your feet, get your yearly eye exam, and exercise. Here are more resources about National Diabetes Month.
