Effects of Alcohol
Alcoholism is a difficult topic to explain to your family
members and friends. Yet, more people are becoming alcoholic since the
pandemic. Since the pandemic eighty percent of college age students abused
alcohol consumption. Alcohol has destroyed family relationships, friendships,
and social interactions as a society. It severely damages the brain by changing
a person’s behaviors, actions, and in pairs the body from functioning well.
If the person is an alcoholic and has a mental health issue,
he or she will feel worse. Alcohol does not make a person feel better about
forgetting their problems. A person might get more aggressive, more sensitive,
and grouchier. The brain will end up shrinking with more alcohol and more
blackouts occur frequently. The person might have nerve damage due to the
excess of alcohol as well as having difficulties in speaking.
Consuming alcohol as an escape tool is not good for the
brain, the nervous system, and for the organs. The organ affected is the liver
which is a difficult organ to find for transplants. The other organs affected
is the heart, pancreas, and the esophagus. Alcohol also affects fertility for
men and women. A person can recover from alcoholism over time while the addiction
will always be there in the brain. Here are more resources about alcoholism.
