How to Prevent Doxxing?

Doxxing is a form of cyberbullying that can occur to anyone. This is done by someone who shares personal information online about another person. It is recommended to change your passwords frequently and use strong passwords. Also, to use two-factor authentication besides using a virtual private network (VPN). Furthermore, it is recommended to report doxxing.

This type of cyberbullying is a serious matter which needs to be stopped. Doxxing leads to stalking, harassment, and identity theft. Personal information on public databases leads to phishing, spoofing, spam mail, and hacking can occur. The worst part of doxxing is that there is a paid service that someone can pay for harming another person's identity. Doxxing puts anyone in danger if the confidential information is incredibly detailed.

After a person is doxed, it is not easy to remove all the confidential information online, especially from a public database. Doxxing leaves anyone anxious, nervous, and not feeling safe. This type of cyberbullying causes intimidation and incites violence. Therefore, one must be alert and not share too much information online. Also, do not share too much information with people you just met.

In October, you can discuss it with your teenager about doxxing. Doxxing is cyber harassment. If a person is accused with enough evidence of doxxing, they can go to jail, or they will have to pay a huge fine. However, it is not easy to get the person or persons involved in doxxing. Yet, it is necessary to have a lawyer, or a private investigator, and proceed with legal actions if you have been a victim of doxxing.

Do not find justice on your own. It is best to let the proper authorities and your lawyer do their jobs. Doxxing is harmful to you because of your safety and peace of mind. Furthermore, it increases your stress and damages you financially. This harassment makes you feel paranoid and might lead to other emotional issues.

Doxxing robs you of your peaceful state of mind.
