What is Triolet Poetry?


Triolet poetry originated from medieval French poetry dating from the thirteenth century. This type of poetry was used in musical form with themes of love. However, now Triolet poetry can be written about any subject. Triolet poem is a short poem that uses repetition. These short poems have eight lines.

Also, Triolet poetry is fascinating because of the repetition of lines four and seven. Also, lines two and eight are repeated. Repetition is a common element in this poetic form.
