National Seafood Month

In October, you can still enjoy eating seafood. Consuming seafood is beneficial for your cardiovascular system, nervous system, and skeletal system. It is good for your joints, brain, and might lower your cholesterol.  Therefore, this month is dedicated to seafood. Make sure you buy certified sustainable fish.

Certified sustainable fish include salmon, clams, tuna, lobster, and other fish labeled certified. If you are not sure if your fish is certified, you can check the Fish Watch website. Also, you can look for the MSC label on the package before purchasing your fish. MSC stands for Marine Stewardship Council which was established in 1997. After purchasing your fish, you can check out the Healthy Fish website for recipes.

Additionally, you can check out my recipes in the Sweetness Meditations Blog. One simple way to cook tilapia is by boiling it in water and with lemon juice. Always make sure you have lemons, limes, or citrus fruits when making your fish. As well as tartar sauce, tomato sauce, or teriyaki sauce if you want more flavor in your fish. However, you can still enjoy consuming fish no matter how you make it.

Ingredients:

1 tilapia package

1 or 2 lemons

Mushrooms

Bell peppers

Onions

Sweet potatoes

Pre-packaged salad

Corn

Asparagus

Pepper (optional)

Preparation and Cooking Time:

First, wash and slice the bell peppers. Second, peel half of an onion and slice it. Third, in one skillet, add bell peppers and onions. Fourth, wash and dry the mushrooms. Fifth, slice the mushrooms.

Next, add the mushrooms. Sixth, add the tilapia to the skillet and add water. Seventh, wash one to two lemons and use a juice squeezer. Boil the tilapia and add lemon juice. After that wait for the bell peppers to get soft and the mushrooms to change their color.

Serve the tilapia with a salad and sweet potatoes. You can also serve the tilapia with corn and asparagus. Always use vegetables that are in season or your favorite vegetables. You can add pepper or tartar sauce if it has too much lemon juice. Here are the links for the websites that we're mentioned in this post.
