Laundry Tips for Stains
Taking
care of your clothes is necessary so your clothes can last for many years. When
doing the laundry, inspect your clothes for stains. Pretreat the stains with
natural ingredients in your home such as baking soda, lemon juice, vinegar,
salt, and hydrogen peroxide. Also, use dish soap to remove the stains. Use a
toothbrush or microfiber cloth to remove the stains.
Depending on the
fabric, you can use white vinegar and baking soda. An alternative ingredient is
baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to remove sweat stains, coffee stains, or
blood stains. Let it sit on the fabric for ten minutes before washing it. Wash
the stained clothes in freezing water. Let the clothes air dry to make sure the
stains were eliminated.
Lemon juice and
salt also help to remove some stains on fabrics. Blot the stains with a
microfiber cloth. Also, you can use milk to remove some stains. Milk is used to
remove ink stains especially if you leave the garment in milk overnight before
washing it. Using natural ingredients on clothes is necessary especially if you
cannot use Clorox on clothes that are labeled as "wash with non-chlorine
detergent."
Oil stains can be
removed with cornstarch. Grass stains can also be removed by using hydrogen
peroxide and clear dish soap. Other stains can be removed with white vinegar
and clear dish soap. Use a sponge or a microfiber cloth to lift the stain from
the fabric with freezing water. Treat stains immediately or when you see them
before doing the laundry.
Separate your
stained clothes from your other clothes. Pretreat the stains first before
washing them and before putting them in the dryer. The dryer makes it difficult
to remove the stains if there are residues in the stains. Another way to remove
stains is by using a bar of unscented soap and freezing water. Here are
