National Cancer Survivor's Day
June
4th is National Cancer Survivor's Day. This day brings awareness of cancer and
a celebration of surviving cancer. There are more than fifty color ribbons to
represent several types of cancer and to bring awareness of these cancers.
After going through a cancer diagnosis and treatment, it is recommended to
continue having healthier meals, exercising, and doing what you like to do.
Managing your stress with meditation or relaxation techniques to help your
mental and physical health.
Taking care of yourself
more and living fully with positivity. Continue being brave and follow your
doctor's recommendations. Get your yearly medical exams and medical tests done.
Speak to people about your cancer diagnosis and treatment experiences. Do not
avoid talking about your cancer.
Do volunteer work
for one or two hours. Join events that support cancer awareness. Spread
awareness of cancer infographic information on social media. Learn about the
type of cancer you have and update your lifestyle. Quit unhealthy habits and
develop new habits that help you improve your sleep, mental, and physical
health.
Do things
consciously and beat cancer. Continue working on your hobbies and life goals.
Create a vision board, a bucket list, or small reminders of your dreams. Thank
your caregiver, nurses, and oncologist. Do not overwork yourself and practice
self-care.
If you feel
depressed after surviving cancer, get professional help. Practice self-love,
mindfulness, gratitude, body positivity, positive affirmations, and anything
that gives you a boost of joy. Get enough sleep, plenty of hydrating drinks,
and relaxation. Support cancer charities. Wear a cancer survivor shirt or bracelet
or have a bumper sticker.
Depending on the
type of cancer you have, you can donate blood. Have family members donate their
long hair to children who have cancer. Donate gently used clothes and other
items that give support to cancer patients and cancer survivors. Stay
motivated. Here are more websites about surviving cancer.
