Hostile Romantic Relationship Tips
Hostility in a romantic relationship feels like one rain cloud after another
rain cloud. Yet, if hostility continues in the relationship, it becomes an
unhealthy relationship with unresolved issues. Most of the time there is a lack
of communication and listening to your partner when this occurs. Solving the
conflicts that arise within the relationship is the first step to prevent
anger. Listen attentively to your partner and your partner also listens to your
point of view.
Give your partner some space to think about what
was said if needed. Allow a short break in between the discussion. Walk away if
you must or go to another room for your partner to absorb the information.
Forgive your partner without having any resentments. Do activities that make
you and your partner to work together.
Have fun doing the activities and make it a routine to do an activity per week. This makes your relationship stronger. Get support from a professional therapist if the hostility is too much to accept. Also, your therapist can help you and your partner to communicate better.
