How to Improve your Posture with Yoga? (Posture Month)
Several health issues
can linger due to having poor posture. Yet, doing exercise specifically for
your back can improve your posture. One form of exercise is yoga. Yoga helps
stretch your muscles and gives relief from back pain. Many yoga poses are good
for the back such as the Half Frog Pose.
The Half Frog Pose makes
you stretch your thighs and ankles while it improves your back. If you can not
touch your toes to do this pose, you can use a strap. If you want to do a more
advanced frog pose, you can do the Downward-Facing Frog Pose. This pose also is
good for strengthening the lower portion of your back. Also, you can release
the tension from all your muscles by doing this pose.
Another yoga pose that
improves your neck and back is the Fish Pose. The Fish Pose stretches the
muscles from your neck, shoulders, and thighs. This pose can also be done with
two-blocks for your shoulder and neck. Before you try yoga for improving your
posture, consult with your doctor especially if you have injuries, migraines,
or if you are pregnant. Below are links with more information about yoga and
