Student Mental Health Tips (Mental Awareness)
A student's mental health is so crucial these days, especially during this pandemic. As a student, it takes a lot of responsibility, time, effort, and hard work to complete homework assignments. It is a stressful time for any student who is struggling to learn in person or in hybrid classes. Therefore, taking mental breaks between homework and studying will reduce stress. Here is a list of tips for students.
1. Practice yoga, exercise, or any activity that makes you feel great.
2. Practice self-care for five to ten minutes before taking a test, between study breaks, and at any time of the day.
3. Do not do too many club activities, extracurricular activities, or after-school activities.
4. Say "No" to events when your schedule is too full.
5. Plan your self-care schedule with your school work schedule.
6. Do not use alcohol, energy drinks, drugs, or substances to keep you awake.
7. If you feel tired and sleepy, go to sleep early.
8. Do take naps if needed.
9. Let go of work issues before studying for an exam.
10. Set aside some time to process your emotions.
It is helpful to seek counseling from your college psychologist, therapist, or mental health advisor. Also, ignore any bad comments from your peers. Every student's mental health is different. Therefore, your psychologist might offer more ideas for taking care of your mental health. Below are resources for mental health.
