word games can help you relax, focus, and may help you with improving your
memory. Word games can be played online or through applications. These games
can also be purchased with large print which can make it easier to find words
on paper. Play these games for thirty minutes a day. Repeat and recite the
words that you play in the word games.
Although more
research needs to be done for preventing Alzheimer’s, Dementia, and other
chronic neurological diseases; Playing word games may help with memory recall.
Yet, there is no specific game for preventing Alzheimer’s and Dementia. However,
reducing stress, managing emotions, and making changes to your lifestyle can
help. Knowing your risk factors and following recommendations from your doctor
might help to prevent Alzheimer’s or Dementia. Seek professional guidance for
quitting alcohol, cigarettes, or other substances.
In addition, you
can play games with others to make it more fun. Socializing and playing games
can improve brain function. As well as dancing and interacting with people can
assist in improving your memory. Loneliness, depression, and isolating yourself
can increase the risk of Dementia, Alzheimer’s, or other chronic neurological diseases.
Reconnect with your friendships and schedule time with them.
Singing can also
help you remember and concentrate. If you want to remember where you put your
keys, cell phone, or other item; You can sing a short song that has the word
key, telephone, or other item. Additionally, if the song rhymes it can help you
remember where you placed the items. Sing a song to help you concentrate and
relax from a busy stressful day. Write down the song on paper to sing it.
Record your to do
list. Play your to do list recording. Avoid loud noises and get your ears
checked out for hearing loss. Participate in activities that you enjoy. Protect
yourself from falls and use a walking device.
Do self-care, Tai
Chi, Yoga, or other relaxing activities. Use applications that are available
for caregivers and for people who have a chronic neurological disease. These
applications can assist in doing brain exercises, meditation, medication
alerts, and other resources related to Alzheimer’s or Dementia. Join a support
group if you are a caregiver and wear purple for Brain and Alzheimer’s
