Chicken & Jalapeños Dinner (Father's Day Dinner 2024)
Making
a special dinner for your father, uncle, or for your husband for Father’s Day
does take some planning. However, planning your Father’s Day meal in advance
can help you feel less stressed and to celebrate this day with them. This
chicken recipe is simple to make and does not require that many ingredients.
Also, it does not have that much salt either, especially if you or your dad are
on a low sodium diet. This meal is a little bit spicy and a little bit salty
because of the olives and jalapenos but it complements this chicken meal with
hot decaf tea, juice, or lemonade.
Jalapeños have
vitamin C, vitamin A, vitamin K, and fiber. Consuming jalapeños is good for the
skin and for the ocular system. As well as opening the nasal passages to give
relief from nasal congestion due to the capsaicin. Therefore, eating jalapeños
in moderation can be beneficial for the immune system, ocular system, and the
respiratory system. Here is the recipe for making this chicken dinner with jalapeños
and olives on the side.
Ingredients:
Chicken breasts
Onions
Jalapeños
Olives
Potatoes
Bell Peppers
Extra Virgin
Olive Oil (optional)
Spices:
Onion Powder
Chili Powder
Parsley flakes
Basil
Remove the
chicken breasts from the packet. Then, use a pair of cooking scissors to slice
the chicken into smaller pieces or use a knife to slice it. After that add the
following spices: Onion Powder, Chili Powder, Parsley Flakes, and Basil to the
chicken. Next, cook the chicken in a pot or in a skillet with water or with
olive oil and add slices of bell peppers. After that add onion slices.
Wash potatoes
with the potato skin. In another pot add potatoes with the potato skin in
water. Then, cook the potatoes. After the potatoes are soft, turn off the
stove. Next, in one or two plates add the chicken, bell peppers, and onions.
Slice one potato
in half and add half of the potatoes to each plate. Then, add the olives and jalapeños
on the side with store bought salsa on the side. Also, you can add a little bit
of butter on top of the potatoes or a butter substitute. Serve this meal with
lemonade, decaf tea, juice, or another beverage. Happy Father’s Day!
