Flaxseed Yogurt Parfait


Consuming flaxseeds is beneficial for the cardiovascular system. It also helps manage diabetes. As well as helping the digestive system. It has Omega-3 fatty acid, copper, magnesium, iron, and fiber. Flaxseed yogurt parfaits make a delicious breakfast, snack, or for a quick party dessert. 

 

Flaxseeds are also beneficial for the immune system. It may help to balance hormones and helps the function of the brain. Additionally, flaxseed can be beneficial for bone health. Always consult with your primary doctor before adding flaxseed to your meals. Here is the recipe for making this yogurt parfait with flaxseed. 

 

Ingredients:

 

Greek Yogurt or Vanilla Yogurt Parfait

Strawberries 

Apples

Ground Flaxseed 

Honey (Optional)

 

Preparation and Parfait Time:

 

First wash and slice strawberries. Remove the green leaves. Second wash and slice apples. I left the skin of the apples for fiber. Third in one small mason jar or a small glass cup add Greek yogurt. 

 

Next, add one or two spoons of flaxseed. Mix the ground flaxseed with the yogurt. After that add the strawberries and apple slices. Continue adding Greek yogurt. Add a little bit of honey to make it taste sweet and nutty with the flaxseed. 

Add more strawberries and apples. However, if you use Greek vanilla yogurt, adding honey is optional. Fourth add a little bit of flaxseed on top of the yogurt and fruits. Refrigerate the parfaits and serve them immediately to your guests. Enjoy!
