Affirmations for Nervousness, Holidays, & Sleep (Journaling Tips)

Practicing affirmations in your journaling for your nervous system can be useful before going to sleep. Nervousness, enthusiasm, and having a difficult time going to sleep occasionally can disrupt your sleep cycle. Yet, practicing daily journaling can become a repetitive routine which can assist in reducing your holiday enthusiasm. However, you might continue feeling nervousness especially if you are feeling loneliness and uncertainty before the holidays begin. Autumn holidays can often make you feel scared, nervous, or other feelings that make you feel uneasy.

Sometimes looking at the night sky before journaling and practicing affirmations can be comforting. Establish an evening routine as soon as you get home from work. Affirmations can be said aloud as soon as you come home. Have a list of affirmations or laminated affirmations in your kitchen refrigerator to help you see it before making your dinner. Read your selected affirmations before you cook your meals.

If you feel too nervous before eating, practice box breathing or visualize a square shape as you inhale and exhale. Next, visualize a calming color and the square shape in front of the color. After that continue inhaling and exhaling. Look at your hands and look for body signals of nervousness such as sweaty hands, nervous twitches, or involuntary movements caused by anxiety. Always consult with your primary care doctor and a neurologist for nervous ticks, twitches, and nervous shaking.

Also, practicing to stay calm can be challenging at times especially if you have constant anxiety, nervousness, or other symptoms that make you stay awake at night. Speak with your doctor for ways to calm your nervous system in addition to journaling, meditation, or other relaxation activities. Getting a massage can temporarily reduce your stress and get relief from your nervousness. When getting a massage, think about your affirmations for helping you to relax. Here is a brief list.

1. I am focusing on my body and releasing my nervousness to help me get some rest.

2. I am capable to feel inner peace and releasing my nervousness so I can sleep.

3. I am feeling sleepy as I feel my nervousness but I let go of the nervousness to go to sleep.

4. I am filled with enthusiasm and accept my nervousness.

5. I am capable of doing my best as I release my worries and nervousness.

6. I am brave and ready to listen to my body before I go to sleep.

7. I am calm and ready to let go of my unexplainable nervousness.

8. I am capable of slowing down and listening to my body as I release my worries.

9. I am filled with inner peace and let go of nervousness as I go to sleep.

10. I am grateful and calm as I let go of nervousness, enthusiasm, or other feelings.

Journaling one page per day can help you focus on reducing your stress before going to sleep. Decluttering your bedroom and making your bed before writing affirmations is recommended. Do write your affirmations ahead of time and add the affirmations in several areas in your home. Affirmations for nervousness can be practiced daily in addition to medical treatments to help you improve your sleep. If needed, tear out pages from your journal and use magnets to hang your affirmations with your sleep journal prompts in an area to read them.
