The Benefits of Rosehip Oil for Dry & Sensitive Skin

Rosehip oil is used as a carrier oil with essential oils. This carrier oil is used to dilute peppermint, lavender, and chamomile essential oil. However, Rosehip oil is also beneficial for all skin types including dry and sensitive skin. It nourishes, hydrates, and moisturizes the skin leaving the skin smooth. This oil can be applied to your face, neck, and décolletage to reduce fine lines, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation.

Do not confuse Rosehip Oil with Rosewater. Rosehip oil is made from the fruit and the seeds of roses. It is also called Rosehip Seed Oil. In contrast, Rosewater is made from the petals of roses and water which is used as a skin toner. The most beneficial aspect of Rosehip oil is that it helps to form collagen and it is a natural exfoliator.

Before applying Rosehip oil to your face, it is recommended to do a skin patch test to prevent skin allergies. Avoid applying Rosehip oil near your eyes and lips. Massage this oil onto your face, neck, and décolletage. Furthermore, it reduces the redness and inflammation that the skin might have due to sun damage and skin conditions. Cleaning Produce During a Pandemic

During these days of quarantine, it is important to clean your produce besides cleaning kitchen counters, stoves, and sinks. After buying your fruits and vegetables, it is highly recommended to wash them before putting them away in your fridge or on the counter. Some vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, and other cruciferous vegetables should be washed with distilled white vinegar for ten or fifteen minutes in a bowl of water. Also, you can wash them with lemon juice and with water. Other vegetables can be washed with salt and water before you use them for cooking your meals.

When washing your fruits, you can also soak them in water and in salt or with vinegar for ten to fifteen minutes. You can use a plastic toothbrush to gently remove the dirt of strawberries and other small fruits while you wash them with salt and water. Another way is by washing them with baking soda and with water. It is a good idea to wash all your fruits and vegetables to prevent any stomach issues before consuming them.  Washing your fruits and vegetables can prevent food poisoning, E.coli, and bacteria from getting inside your body.

After everything is washed, you will worry less and feel secure about consuming your produce. Although the Coronavirus (COVID-19) does not affect the food system, it is best to prevent stomach issues during these stressful times. This can prevent diarrhea, vomiting, and stomach cramps while you stay at home. It is best to prevent and not to lament later.  Here are more resources about washing your produce.

Materials:

Acrylic Paint

Paint Brushes

Spring Time To-Do List

Making to-do lists is important to organize your priorities. It helps you stick to your schedule. To-do lists should have a starting date and a due date to complete the task. You can have more than one list. One list can have all of your chores, appointments, and other items.

Using numbers or bullets also helps to sort your duties at home and at work. Make one to-do list for the items that need to be done at home. Next, make another to-do list for work or for college. Use different colored pens to write your list. Although there are apps to create a to-do list,  sometimes writing it down helps to remember the tasks that need to be done for that day or for the week.

Do not feel guilty if you add assignments that you love to do on your to-do list. Here are more resources about to-do lists. Below, I have created three to-do lists that can be printed and colored. Each to-do list has flowers drawn by hand and other design elements. These to-do lists are free and for your personal use only.

Strawberry and Apple Dessert

Eating healthy snacks during the day energizes you throughout the day. It also gives a boost in concentration. Additionally, it keeps you full between meals. One of my favorite snacks is eating yogurt with fruit such as apples and strawberries. Strawberries are helpful to keep your heart healthy and it controls your sugar levels. Similarly, eating apples are great for your heart because it reduces the bad cholesterol.

Apples also regulate your sugar levels too. Combining fruit in plain yogurt is beneficial for your digestion and for keeping your heart healthy. Sometimes, adding a little bit of whip cream makes it a delightful dessert. Taking a healthy snack to work improves your mood too especially when you are having a stressful workday. Here is the recipe in making this strawberry and apple dessert.

Ingredients:
1 box or half a box of Strawberries
1 Red Apple
1 Cup of Plain Yogurt
Whip Cream (Optional)

First, wash the strawberries. Then, slice the strawberries in half. Second, wash one apple and remove the core of the apple. After that peel and slice the apple. Third, add a few spoons of plain yogurt to a small bowl. Next, add the apple in the bowl with the yogurt. Continue adding the strawberries and apples to the small bowl with the yogurt. Last, add some whip cream in case the strawberries aren’t that sweet. This recipe serves two people. Here are more resources about healthy snacking.

Classical Music & Meditation

Listening to classical music at night helps you to fall asleep thirty minutes or less. It lowers your blood pressure and reduces your stress. Also, it connects parts of the brain making your brain stay sharp. Classical music reduces pain and it is very comforting. Yet, classical music also invigorates the mind and body.

Similarly,  classical music is beneficial for plants which makes them grow and last longer. It is recommended to listen to Chopin, Beethoven, and Ravel for adequate sleep at night. However, if you need to be energized and awaken, it is recommended to listen to J.S. Bach, Richard Strauss, Debussy, and Tchaikovsky. Meditating with classical music for twenty or thirty minutes is effective for managing your stress. Sitting or laying down while meditating and listening to classical music will help you forget about anything that bothers, frustrates, or angers you.

Additionally, classical music stimulates the brain for creativity and for romance. Listening to Handel, Puccini, and Rachmaninoff makes you feel sentimental. Taking deep breaths and letting your mind escape for a few minutes will help you feel good. Therefore, listening to classical music and doing yoga poses will establish a satisfactory exercise routine. Here are more resources about classical music and meditation.

How to Quit Compulsive Overeating?

Compulsive eating disorders affect male and female teenagers at one point in their lives. Usually, an eating disorder can occur after being abused physically and mentally. Also, too much stress from peer pressure can cause eating disorders such as anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating. Yet, compulsive eating disorders can continue as an adult. If it is left untreated, eating disorders get worse as an adult.

However, there are ways to stop yourself or someone from compulsive eating. Knowing the symptoms of compulsive eating disorders is the first step in ending this dilemma. The second step is to seek professional help. Also, therapy with the family creates a stronger bond with your teenager or with an adult. Never tell them jokes about their weight.

The third step is not to tell them that he or she is fat or too skinny. Simply being there for them and building their self-esteem is crucial for them to end their eating disorder. Besides, speaking to a therapist, speak to a doctor about the symptoms and for guidance. Don't put yourself or your teenager on a diet unless the doctor recommends it. Here are more resources about compulsive eating disorders.
