Yogurt Face Masks for Winter Dry Skin

One way to prevent winter dry skin is by making yogurt face masks. Yogurt adds moisture and protects your skin from harsh elements. Additionally, yogurt lightens the skin if you have dark spots on the skin caused by Acne or Melasma. It makes your skin feel smooth and exfoliates your skin without using face scrubs. Due to its lactic acid, your skin will look younger by removing the beginning of wrinkles or fine lines.

Yogurt face masks are easy to make at home by having honey, eggs, or any other food ingredient that you want to use on your homemade face mask. Honey is generally used to give moisture to your skin and for its antibacterial properties. Eggs in face masks make your skin feel tight and it will clarify the skin. There are many variations to making your yogurt face mask for specific purposes such as lightening age spots, removing acne scars, or to give it extra moisture during the winter season. The following yogurt face mask is for dry flaky and sensitive skin.

Ingredients:

½ cup of plain yogurt or Greek Yogurt

1 tablespoon of Clover Honey

1 tablespoon of olive oil

In one small container, put a few spoons of yogurt. Put one tablespoon of clover honey and one tablespoon of olive oil. Mix all the ingredients. Apply the yogurt mask to your face using a circular motion and avoid getting the mix near your eyes. Leave it on for about ten or fifteen minutes. Remove the yogurt face mask with a soft towel or with an unscented baby wipe. Rinse your face with warm water. Then, with cool water. After that, you can apply your sunscreen if you are going out. If you are not going out, then you can apply cold cream or your favorite night face cream. Here are more resources about making your yogurt face masks.

Poinsettias are beautiful flowers in the winter season that bring inspiration to writers and poets. Additionally, poinsettias make a quick Christmas decoration for a dining room table. DIY Handmade Denim Tote Bag

A fun way to recycle your favorite pair of blue jeans is by making a tote bag. There are so many ways to make your denim tote bag such as adding pockets, buttons, or sequins. But, if you want a small basic tote bag, then you will like today’s sewing tutorial. This simple tote bag is embellished with sheer ribbon and with a removable denim strap. Here are the instructions for making this denim tote bag.

Materials:

1 Old Pair of Denim

Thread

Needles

Scissors

5/8 in X 18 ft Sheer Ribbon Ruban Transparent

An old tote bag (for measurement purposes)

Swivel Claw Clasps or Metal Lobster Clasps

First, cut an old pair of denim jeans. For this small tote bag, I only used one side of the denim pants which was the bottom portion of one pant leg. Second, use an old tote bag to trace or to estimate the size of fabric that you will need for your denim tote bag. After you have the measurements that you want for your tote bag, use a pair of scissors to cut the fabric in a rectangle shape. Sew every side of the fabric and leave the top part of the fabric open.

Third, sew sheer ribbon on the horizontal side of the bag. Sew the ribbon on both sides of the bag. Fourth, use leftover fabric to make the handbag handcuff. This will make it easier to put the swivel claw clasps and the strap onto the bag. Using leftover strips of fabric, sew the edges of the fabric and make it into a long rectangular shape. Once that is done, sew the small piece of fabric on the corners of the tote bag.

After that you can begin making the denim strap for the tote bag. Using several pieces of denim fabric, sew the edges of the fabric into long rectangular strips. Connect each rectangular strip together. Using an old purse strap can help you find the right length for your tote bag. After the denim strap is put together with the swivel claw clasps, sew sheer ribbon on the sides of the strap or on the areas that you want to cover with ribbon. Last, insert the denim strap on the corners of the handbag handcuff to create the tote bag. This sewing project can take several hours or two days if you are sewing this by hand. Here are more resources about making your own denim tote bag.

National Stress-Free Family Holidays Month (December)

The holidays can be a stressful month for the family. Yet, there are ways to manage your stress as a family. The first recommendation is to exercise together. You can do this by doing yoga at home. Also, you can create your own dance moves at home.

This will only take one hour, and you will all feel relaxed after exercising. The second recommendation is to do the chores together such as washing clothes, gardening, or cleaning your home. The third recommendation is to have a schedule of what you are going to do during the day as a family and a sleep schedule. This will create less family chaos so everyone can enjoy family time together. Playing card games, board games, and other games that do not require electricity will help you take a break from electronics.

Last, you can read to each other. Have everyone take turns reading to each other while drinking hot cocoa. The main factor is to reduce your stress while having family time during the holidays. You can also read a book and make a short video or recording to send to family members that are long distant. In this way, your long distant family will feel closer when they hear your voice on the cellphone. Here are more resources about having a stress-free holiday month.

Adding a small number of green onions to your soups will provide vitamin K, vitamin C, and vitamin A for the skeletal system. These vitamins are also beneficial for the ocular system. More importantly, consuming green onions help with the digestive system. The best part is that it has fewer calories and it is beneficial for the cardiovascular system. Nonetheless, cooking with green onions will add flavor and an aromatic scent to your vegetable’s soups.

Handpainted Tin Can Tutorial

Do you like to collect vintage tin cans? If you do, you will love this quick and simple painting project. The best part is that you can reuse the tin can after painting it for storing small items. I used an empty Nivea Creme tin can for this painting project. However, you can use any size tin can to repurpose it.

Materials:

Different colors of Acrylic Paint

Different colors of Nail Polish

1 tin can

Different sizes of paintbrushes

Old Paper

Clear Top Coat of Paint

Place the old paper on the table before painting the tin can. Next, wash off the hand cream residue from the tin can. Dry the tin can with a soft towel or rag. After that dip, one paintbrush into one coat of paint and paint the front cover of the tin can. Wait for the paint to dry.

Also, paint the backside of the tin can using the same color paint. Wait for the paint to dry. After that dip a second paintbrush with a different color of paint and paint a flower. Wait for the paint to dry. Continue painting lines to create the flower.

Fill in the flower with a different color of nail polish. Wait for the nail polish to dry. Paint a flower stem with green paint and another nail polish color. Wait for the paint to dry. Last, paint a clear topcoat to protect the painted area of the tin can. After everything is dry, you can store small items such as earrings, safety pins, or other items. A Simple Charm Bracelet Tutorial

Have you ever bought or found a bracelet that does not fit right? In this tutorial, you can use bracelets that do not fit and make them fit right. Extending bracelets is a quick method to make a bracelet fit. Sometimes, you will need a bracelet extender to make a bracelet fit. Other times, you will need matching jump rings to extend the bracelet you want to wear. Here are the instructions for extending a bracelet with jump rings and adding charms to your chain bracelet that does not have chain links.

Materials:

7 or 8 Jump Rings

One Chain Bracelet without chain links

Two Different Charms

Jewelry Pliers

3 Lobster Clasps

First, adjust the bracelet by removing the original jump rings. Insert one jump ring on both sides of the bracelet. On one side of the bracelet, insert another jump ring to extend the bracelet. Then, on the other side of the bracelet insert a lobster clasp and a jump ring. Make sure the bracelet fits before continuing with the next step of making your charm bracelet.

Second, make sure all the jump rings are closed. Insert two jump rings in the center of the bracelet. Close the jump rings with the jewelry pliers. Next, use a lobster clasp and one jump ring to insert one charm. Third, insert the second charm into another lobster clasp and a jump ring. Last, insert the lobster clasps with the charms in each jump ring from the center of the bracelet. After that you can enjoy wearing your simple charm bracelet. For more information check out the links below about extending bracelets and making charm bracelets.
