Questions Bloggers are Asked

Answering questions as a blogger can be difficult at times. Some questions that bloggers are asked can be somewhat uncomfortable. However, some questions are too personal to reply to your readers. Yet, using your wisdom and etiquette you will be able to decline from responding to personal questions. Often, the blogger will interpret the reader's questions and analyze what they are asking from you.

For example, a blogger might be asked general questions about where you are from, your hobbies, and what you do as a profession. These questions might seem normal and opens up curiosity about the blogger's life. However, some questions need to be handled tactfully. Gently refuse to answer those questions that might seem strange to you. Politely tell them you do not want to answer those questions and explain to them the reasons.

If possible, change the subject and do not ignore the reader who is asking you that question. Other times, the blogger might get some questions that will make them laugh. Always reply to your readers and be cautious when answering their questions. Your readers are simply curious and want to get to know you as a blogger. Here is a list of some of the best questions that I have received as a blogger.

1. Your drawings have a child-like quality, do you draw them or do you have your child draw them?

Answer: All of the drawings in Sweetness Meditations are hand-drawn by myself. I took a few art classes in college.

2. Are you an English professor because I like your English?

Answer: I'm not an English professor. Thank you for your comment.

3. Do you allow guest posts?

Answer: Yes, I allow guest posts. Please, read the guest post guidelines.

4. What salad dressing do you use on your lettuce wraps?

Answer: It depends on what ingredients are used on the lettuce wraps. Most of the time it is light mayonnaise or with vinegar or olive oil.

5. Do you speak English?

Answer: Yes, I speak and write in English.

6. When will you add more coloring pages?

Answer: Due to the summer heat waves, the next coloring pages will be added in the autumn season.

7. What is your profession?

Answer: I graduated from college as an Administrative Assistant-Office Applications and Technology.

These are some of the questions that I'm frequently asked by my readers.  Nonetheless, if you are a new reader always read the about section from the blog to get to know the blogger. Next, read the contact me section to follow the latest information from your favorite blogger. Do not expect a rapid response from your blogger. Thank you for reading my blog and following me on social media. Happy World Social Media Day.

Celebrating World Social Media Day

On the last day of June, you can celebrate World Social Media Day. World Social Media Day is a day where you can give thanks to everyone that follows or likes your images and information. You can review your profile settings on social media. Also, you can review, edit, and update your posts on social media. Besides that, you can review your contacts, followers, and anyone that has access to seeing your profiles on social media.

Thanks to Mashable which is a digital technology company and platform declared World Social Media Day. Mashable was founded in 2010 by Pete Cashmore. The Mashable website gives technology advice, has entertainment news, newsletters, and other topics. Social Media can be fun. Yet, the downside of social media is fake accounts, trolls, strange messages, and negativity.

Always be observant when your teenagers, preteens, and kids use social media. Block people that are negative, disrespectful, or send inappropriate images. No matter how old you are, be careful what you post or publish on social media. Be aware of scams and fake e-mails. Do not post personal information such as telephone numbers, addresses, and other information on social media.

Change passwords often. Do not use the same passwords on every application online. Make sure you connect with people who keep you positive, make you smile, and motivate you. Learn about the new features of all the applications that you use online. Below are links about staying safe when using social media.  Thank you for following me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Sweetness Meditations blog.

Meditating for Inner Peace

Every few days, you might find yourself in an ongoing maze with different walls. Each wall is unique and has a barrier preventing you from going somewhere. Sometimes, you might feel there is no way of getting out of that state of mind. You might feel your emotions are drowning you. Yet, practicing meditation for inner peace will help you think clearly.

You will make better decisions. Also, you will be able to identify who are your friends or who are trying to hurt you. The basic way to practice meditation for inner peace is by sitting down. However, look for a comfortable position such as laying down, sitting down, or lying on your side. Next, you can close your eyes or keep them open.

Use your senses to hear the sounds of nature. Stay quiet and notice how you feel. You can use a short guided meditation to help you. You can take a quiet walk by yourself. No matter how you meditate, make sure you are safe and be yourself.

Do not expect immediate results for finding that internal peace. Meditating for inner peace is a gradual process. You must accept, be thankful, and know-how to forgive them. You must learn to stay away from malicious people that come into your life. In time, you will have that internal peace. Here are resources for meditating for inner peace.

A Resource for Domestic Violence

Being in a relationship with verbal abuse at an early age is not something people would admit to any friend or lifetime partner. It might take years for a person to recognize the pain that carried into new relationships and old relationships. No matter how hard it is to accept that you were in an abusive relationship whether it was verbally, physically, or with violence; Do not think it is your fault for letting it happen to you. It will take time to overcome those experiences and not let them occur to you again. People might not see the pain, the hurt, and other feelings trapped inside.

You might want to change your appearance because of the person who is verbally abusing you. Your clothing style might change, you might wear more make-up or less make-up, or you might put on clothes that your abuser tells you to wear. Your self-esteem might be lower. Yet, there are so many ways a person can be abusing you without realizing it. If you fear for your safety, seek help immediately, report it, get a restraining order, and leave that violent environment.

Also, people might not know that you once experienced domestic violence in your home or in a public place. Do not feel shame or blame yourself. Domestic violence can occur to anyone. It can be a family member, your friend, your spouse, or the person you are dating or dated in the past. No matter who it is do not let yourself manipulated by listening to them. If you are in an abusive relationship or suspect you are, here is a link to a guide with resources that someone recommended to me.

Knowing the warning signs of an abusive relationship will help you not get into a troubled relationship and will help you leave a relationship if you are in that situation. Do not trust the person that is abusing you. After you have left that abusive relationship, seek therapy for managing your emotions and feelings. Talk to someone or to a group of people that might have experienced something like your experiences. Do not feel less of a person and continue being brave especially if you have children to protect.

Father's Day Dinner Idea

Sweet potatoes are good for lowering your blood pressure, controlling your sugar levels, and protecting your eyes. This root vegetable has vitamin A, vitamin K, vitamin C, potassium, and magnesium. It also has vitamin E which the heart needs to function better. Additionally, it helps to control asthma. It is recommended for men to get 900 milligrams of vitamin A.

This simple recipe for a Father's Day dinner includes sweet potatoes, asparagus, and steak. Asparagus helps men get protein, vitamin A, and potassium. It also helps in losing weight and fights cancer. This steak is garnished with bell peppers and mushrooms. Here is the recipe.

Ingredients:

Boneless Cross Rib Steak

1 or 2 Sweet Potatoes

1 Bell Pepper

1 small box of White Mushrooms

Lemon and Pepper

Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Wash the meat and remove the fat from the meat. Next, add lemon and pepper to the meat. In one skillet, add the meat with sliced bell peppers and mushrooms. Make sure the bell peppers have no seeds before cooking them with the meat. Cook the meat and vegetables with a little bit of water.

In another pot, add sliced sweet potatoes already peeled with water. Next, cook the asparagus in another pot with water. As soon as the meat has cooked for several minutes, transfer the meat to another skillet with extra virgin olive oil. Cook the meat and vegetables for a few minutes or until everything are soft and tender. This recipe is for two people. Happy Father's Day in advance.

How to Make Lip Scrubs at Home?

Lip scrubs can be made at home using a few ingredients from your kitchen. You can use sugar, coffee grounds, cinnamon, honey, milk, and oils. I would not recommend using salt for scrubbing the dry flakes from the lips. Mainly because salt can make the skin drier and more sensitive. However, sea salt can be used to exfoliate your lips as long as you do not scrub too much.

Begin by making your scrub with two ingredients. You can choose sugar, coffee grounds, cinnamon, or sea salt. Next, you can choose milk, coconut oil, olive oil, or another oil to make your lips smooth while you exfoliate the dry areas. Then, apply a small amount of the scrub onto a toothbrush. Move the toothbrush in a circular motion.

Last, rinse the scrub and use a soft towel to remove the scrub. You can apply Vaseline or lip balm after you exfoliate your lips.  It is recommended to scrub your lips once or twice a week. However, do not exfoliate your lips too much because they will get sensitive. Lip scrubs make it easier to apply your lip balm, lipstick, or lip liners.

Before you apply a lip scrub make sure your lips do not have cold sores, cracked areas, or cuts. It might make your lips sting or have a burning sensation especially if you are using sea salt on your lips. Avoid the areas of the cold sores or wait for your lips to heal before using a lip scrub. Lip scrubs can be incorporated into your night or your morning routine. Here are links for making your lip scrubs.

Safety Tips for Bloggers

Blogging makes you have fun and feel creative when you write. However, there are certain months of the year when a blogger might not feel safe online. Sometimes, a blogger might go through cyberbullying, stalking, predators, and porn-obsessed strangers. Whatever their intentions are, it is best to follow these tips when you are blogging. After following these tips you will feel a little bit safer when you write on social media and in your blogs.

First, be alert and use your common sense when you accept a friend request, a follow, or a request from a stranger online. Second, review their profiles and make your judgment before accepting a follow or a friend request from a stranger. Third, check for spam e-mails in messenger, WhatsApp, or other messaging apps you use for your blog. Fourth, if you feel uncomfortable do not accept the friend request or the following. Fifth, if they send you an inappropriate video or image, you have the right to report it and to block them on social media.

This may seem harsh but for personal safety, it is best to ignore those messages from strangers who have bad intentions. Whether you are married or a single blogger do not let yourself be dominated by online trolls. Sixth, make some privacy changes in your settings on your profiles and on messaging apps. Seventh, do not post too many personal pictures of yourself, your family, or your friends. The eighth step is not to post every personal detail about your personal life.

Keep your blog separate from your personal life if necessary on social media. It might be tempting to chat with a stranger who is following your blog. Therefore, limit your conversations and keep them basic. The ninth step is to follow your instinct and do not be too trusting. If you do not feel comfortable doing video chats, telephone calls, or other requests from strangers; Let them know that you do not want to do it and end the conversation. Tips for Caregivers (Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness)

Taking care of someone with Alzheimer's takes a lot of patience and understanding. To be a caretaker for someone with Alzheimer's takes a lot of energy, sacrifice, and time management. Keeping the same routine every day might seem boring. However, changing the schedule might cause anxiety, nervousness, and other negative emotions for the person who has Alzheimer's. Therefore, keeping all the days on the same schedule will make it less stressful for the caregiver and the person with Alzheimer's.

Sometimes, the caregiver has to give basic instructions or keep the conversation basic. Other times, the caregiver has to repeat the same information such as the time, the day it is, and the weather. Other times, the caregiver has to limit the number of naps for the person who has dementia. Also, the caregiver must educate and learn about the different stages of Alzheimer's. The caregiver must give support to the family and always have family members present.

The caregiver should have a positive attitude. Also, the caregiver might find that some chores will take longer to do such as cleaning and keeping the room clean. DIY Embroidery Heart Patch Pillowcase

Today's sewing tutorial is all about embroidered patches. Making handmade embroidered patches are fun to make at home. Some embroidered patches are elaborate and time-consuming to make by hand. Yet, keeping your embroidered patches simple will make it easier for you to make especially if you are a beginner in doing embroidery. Here is the tutorial for making these heart embroidered patches.

Materials:

Leftover fabric

Embroidery floss thread

Scissors

Embroidery needles

Embroidery hoop

One pillowcase

Fabric marker or a black pen

Heart stencil (optional)

Regular needle (optional)

Regular thread (optional)

Begin by using a fabric marker or a black pen with a heart stencil to draw the heart. If you do not have a stencil, you can draw the heart by hand onto the leftover fabric. After that insert embroidery thread in the embroidery needle and begin embroidering. You can follow the outline of the heart or cover the lines to make the shape of the heart. Next, you can continue embroidering the heart depending on how thick you want the embroidery patch to be.

You will need five or six embroidered hearts depending on the size of the hearts. Once the embroidered hearts are complete, carefully cut the embroidered fabric hearts. Then, fold or trim the edges and add embroidery thread around the fabric heart. Then, sew the embroidered hearts onto the seams of the pillowcase using a regular needle or an embroidery needle. In this example, the embroidered hearts can be sewn with embroidery floss thread and with an embroidery needle.

However, you can also glue the embroidered patches onto the seams of the pillowcase instead of sewing the embroidered heart patches. Below are links for more ideas to make your embroidered patches. Embroidered patches can also be made out of circles or other geometric shapes. Keep in mind that each geometric shape will change the look of the embroidered patches. Therefore, make a theme for your embroidered patches before sewing them onto a pillowcase; In this way,  you will not complicate yourself when making the design for the seams of the pillowcase.
