DIY Hand-Painted Journal Covers

Painting journal covers does not take that much time to do. Hand-painted journal covers make good gifts for your friends, family members, or yourself. You can paint something simple by using a stencil for your journal cover. In this example, two butterflies were painted using a stencil. Here is the tutorial for this hand-painted journal cover.

Materials:

Acrylic Paints

Paint Brushes

A Plain Journal

Acrylic Sealer (Finishing Spray)

Stencil

Black Ballpoint Pen

Begin by tracing the butterfly on the journal covers with a black ballpoint pen. Next, paint the entire butterfly in one coat of acrylic paint. Wait for the paint to dry. After that paint with another color to design the butterfly. White paint was used to design the body and the wings.

Wait for the paint to dry. Continue painting and designing your butterflies. Then, wait for the paint to dry before putting the finishing spray. The finishing spray will protect the painted area. Here are more links for painting your journal covers.
