How to Create a Retreat at Home?


Creating a yoga retreat at home is simply enjoying your time to relax after working five days a week. You do not need to purchase expensive items to enjoy your Yoga retreat at home. However, it is recommended to make a schedule before beginning your retreat at home. Besides making a schedule, set some time to clean your rooms where you will have your retreat. Make your room cozy, inviting, and relaxing to practice yoga and meditation.


Nonetheless, select soothing colors for your décor. Add cushions, yoga mats, pillows, bolsters, blocks, and other items that you use for your yoga practice. Have a theme such as love, hope, grace, gratitude, joy, strength, and other feelings you want to use for your mantras. Animal print themes can also be used in yoga because animals are examples of agility, strength, and bravery. Use bright colors and neutral colors for your décor, yoga equipment, and yoga clothing. 


In addition, make a list of the meals you want to have during your yoga retreat days at home. It is recommended to use fresh fruits, grains, protein, salads, soups, and healthy snacks. As well as having tea, herbal tea, mineral water, lemon water, or juice. Also, water infused with fresh herbs such as mint, cucumber, or fresh fruits. Yogurt mixed with fresh fruit for breakfast or as a snack are other examples for planning your retreat meals.

Adjust your retreat activities if you feel sleepy or the weather changes. Make a second schedule in case you need to change it due to interruptions, distractions, or household repairs. Nevertheless, make a planner ahead of time for your retreat at home. Include your family and friends for practicing yoga at home as well as spending quality time with them. Invite them for one or two days for a yoga retreat at home.
