Using Poetry to Meditate

Writing poetry can be a great way to release stress, to get creative, and to learn new words that may rhyme. Poetry can be used as a form of meditation because it allows your mind to escape for a few minutes. Writing your thoughts in the form of poetry may reveal any hidden emotions or feelings that were buried inside. Nonetheless, not all poetry has to rhyme but it is a good tool for exercising the mind. There are so many websites where you can write your poetry, share your poetry, and meet other poets.

One of my favorite websites for sharing your poetry and writing your poetry online was Starlite CafĂ©. You can write your own poetry using a pen name or your own name. Writing poetry in High School was one of my favorite hobbies. Nonetheless, you can read poetry online for a few minutes. Then you can write any comment you may have for the poet.

Using poetry to meditate will allow you to express yourself and to use your imagination. At first, you might find it difficult to write about your feelings or you might feel hesitant to write in the form of poetry. Some of the words might not make sense to you or the words might sound silly. No matter how your poem comes out, you will feel calmer and less stressed out. The more you write in a poetic manner, you will improve your vocabulary, learn new words, and feel less emotional. Here are more resources about using poetry as a form of meditation.
