It is Family Fun Month! Dedicate some family time by attending summer concerts, movies, or other summer activities. Additionally, keep in mind of family summer holiday safety in a calm manner. Be alert and prevent injuries or heat exhaustion. Although not all injuries or health issues can be avoided, carefully review family summer plans.

The end of summer arrives and yet it feels exhausting to enjoy the last days of vacation. Other times there might be days when you feel too sleepy due to the summer heat. Additionally, you might want to slow down to enjoy the summer holidays. The last summer holidays can be fun being spent with family and friends. Yet, there are safety tips that one can use as a guide to avoid summer fatigue, dizziness, headaches, and nausea.

Before you begin your Family Fun Month, select clothing that is appropriate for the sweltering summer weather. If you are going to take a summer walk with your family, practice mindfulness without getting distracted. Distracted walking is not recommended because it limits your safety and your family's safety. Also, if you are sleepy before your summer walk, it is best to take a nap or get necessary sleep before going outside. Use an alarm clock to wake you up after your nap or your sleep.

Splash chilly water or wash your face after waking up. Listen to weather advisory alerts. Read about weather conditions ahead of time before going outdoors with your family. Make a summer emergency kit before going out. Here is a brief list with summer safety tips.

  10. Supervise your children when they are playing with fingerpaints, chalk, soap fingerpaints, puzzle pieces, or toys with small pieces.
