Summer Exercises, Safety & Slow Flow Yoga
Summer
exercises can be tough to do during the summer season, especially if you are
exercising by yourself. However, it is possible to enjoy your summer exercises
when you exercise by yourself. It is recommended to remain calm and to practice
with mental positivity. As well as exercising with motivation without having
expectations. Be aware of your surroundings and stay hydrated.
Make sure you are
in a comfortable, safe, and spacious area to exercise at home or outdoors. Wear
light colored clothing when exercising outside and preferably in the morning.
It is not recommended to exercise outside during a heat wave or during the hottest
hours. Be careful with excessive sweating, leg cramps, or abdominal cramps when
exercising. Do not exercise if you feel dizziness, leg cramps, excessive
sweating, or fatigue.
If you exercise
in the morning, carry wet or freezing towels in a cooler. After exercising
you can place freezing or wet towels on your forehead to keep your body cool.
Also, you can drink icy water or an electrolyte drink before, during, and after
exercising. Rest in a cool shaded area. Bring an extra pair of clothes to
change into after exercising in a gym, exercise, retreat, or other exercises
outside.
Do
a low intensity workout outside in the morning. For example, you can practice
Slow Flow Yoga. The yoga poses are done slowly and consist of the following
poses: Lotus pose, Seated with Side Bending, Seated Circles, Seated Windshield
Wiper Twists, Seated Forward Bend. Every pose is done slowly and focusing on
your breathing. You can also use a chair for doing slow flow yoga and
modifying the yoga poses.
In addition, you
can practice exercising in the evening outdoors if it is comfortable due to the
sizzling summer weather. However, you can practice exercising inside your home
with slow flow yoga poses with slow instrumental music or with nature sounds. Slow
Flow Yoga can help with improving your posture. It also makes you do stretches
for more minutes before transitioning to the next pose. You can include
standing yoga poses such as the Mountain pose, Triangle pose, Extended Side
Angle pose, and the Standing Forward Bend.
It is necessary
to exercise safely and to do slower exercises throughout the summer. You can
exercise by yourself but make sure you are comfortable exercising during hot
days. The hot days can make you feel tired earlier, therefore it is best to
practice exercising in the morning or in the evening. Mindfulness or meditation
can be practiced together with Slow Flow Yoga. Here is a safety list before
