National Memory Day & Tips for Memory Recall

National Memory Day brings an awareness of memory recall. Additionally, it is a day to dedicate some time to practicing techniques for memory recall. You can practice mindfulness, meditation, or exercises to help you focus on memory recall. Nonetheless, incorporating healthier eating, enough sleep, and memory games can help. Play word games, guess games, or watch word game shows on television.

To enhance memory, you can read or write in your journal. Re-read your journal and repeat positive affirmations. Write poetry or write a list of rhyming words without looking at an online rhyme list. Do practice your hobbies and have fun learning new vocabulary words. Play number games, number coloring pages, and mathematical card games for concentration.

Set reminders to play memory game boards. In a group, you can play memory games such as repeating dance moves, jigsaw puzzles, or matching card games. Add time to draw something by memory or by painting something by memory. Continue walking, relaxing, and finding ways for memory recall. Consult your primary physician if you have a fall, brain injury, or have memory issues.

Use your senses and calm your nervous system through self-care activities. Do not force yourself to remember everything. But do ask your primary physician about vitamin deficiencies, a thyroid test, hormone test, and review your medical family history. You do not have to wait for National Memory Day to practice memory recall techniques. Lastly, practice handwritten notes, calligraphy, or writing as you read aloud what you write.
