Fish, Meditation, & Journaling
Journaling
can be relaxing especially if you practice meditation with self-awareness,
self-reflection, and self-gratitude. Yet, during the summer season or anytime
throughout the year, you can practice fish meditation. Fish meditation can be
helpful for relaxing before doing homework assignments, a hard job task, or
quick chores. Also, fish meditation is necessary for observing and for reducing
your stress. Nonetheless, fish meditation can be a fun way to practice
self-reflection, self-awareness, and self-focus for your journaling
process.
Design a journal
page with a fish drawing, fish stickers, or doodles as you listen to the sounds
of an aquarium. Meditate as you think about the swimming experience you had in
the past. Also, write about the way the fish swim inside the aquarium. Practice
the fish pose and other Yoga poses before writing in your journal. Write slowly
and write everything from your fish observation inside your journal.
Stare at the fish
from an aquarium for ten to fifteen minutes. You can use real fish in a fish
tank or an artificial fish tank for practicing fish meditation. Another way is
to look at fish swimming in a television documentary without the sound. Alternatively,
you can stare at fish from an online video that has water sounds. Then listen
to the sounds of the aquarium.
Otherwise,
sit calmly and do one nostril breathing. Stare at a painting of fish. Visualize
you are there as you look at the colors of the fish, the scenery, and the theme
of the painting. Also, you can write in your journal what you are feeling as
you look at the entire painting of fish. Finally, stand up and look at the fish
painting one more time before writing your final thoughts in your journal.
Write about the
way the fish swim. As well as writing about the colors of the fish, the feeling
you have in the present, and what sounds you hear. Draw the fish in your
journal. It is also recommended to use fish journal prompts to help you focus
on what you see, what you hear, or how you feel when you stare at the fish.
Have a comfortable area to sit and stare at the fish.
After that, write
a poem about the fish and how you felt. Another way is to write a short story
about the fish or about your feelings when you stare at the fish. Practice
breathing deeply and slowly exhaling before rereading your poem, short story,
or your journal entry about fish meditation. Listen to a guided meditation
about fish or a fish story before going to sleep. Make paper fish and write positive
affirmations on one side of the paper fish.
Then use the
paper fish as bookmarks before studying or doing your homework. Besides writing
positive affirmations, you can write fish quotes on the back of the paper fish.
Think about your emotions flowing or floating like water bubbles. In front of
the paper fish, write your first emotion that you want to let go. Meditating
while staring at fish can help you reduce your stress before going to
sleep.
Think about your
emotions floating around as water bubbles. Visualize yourself swimming with the
fish and that your emotions are being conducted. Then when the fish turns
inside the aquarium, say a mantra, a positive word, or say a motivational
phrase. Decorate your journal with fish stickers or add tabs to have a
section for your fish art, fish poetry, or other fish journal prompts. Below
