Mushroom and Squash Vegetable Soup 2023
Taking
care of sinus infections requires a lot of rest, fluids, and time. However,
eating vegetable soup always makes me feel better. It temporarily opens my
nasal passages as I consume my soup. There are a variety of ways to make
vegetable soup, but my favorite broth is a combination of spices such as curry
and turmeric. In recent studies, turmeric is beneficial for your kidneys as
well as the respiratory system.
Also, it can be
helpful for allergies and other conditions. It is recommended to use turmeric with
ginger or with cayenne pepper. However, each spice makes a delicious element to
any vegetable soup. Yet, any combination of spices is beneficial for the immune
system and other systems in the body. Here is a recipe for National Nutrition Month,
especially during rainy days.
Ingredients:
One or two yellow
squashes
One or two
Zucchini
One box of whole
Bella mushrooms
Five or seven
carrots
Three or five
petite potatoes
One or two yucca roots
Cabbage
Cilantro
bunch
One or two lemons
Radishes
One and a half
onions (optional)
Spices:
Chicken bouillon
(optional)
Turmeric
Ginger
Salt (optional)
Curry
Dry Rosemary
leaves
Dill seeds
Water
Preparation and
Cooking Time:
Wash, peel, and
slice the carrots, potatoes, and yucca root. In one pot add the sliced carrots,
potatoes, and cilantro leaves. In another small pot with water add the sliced
yucca root. Then, wash and chop the cabbage. Add the cabbage leaves to the big
pot with the vegetables.
Wash and slice
the yellow squash and the zucchini. Add the squash and the zucchini slices
inside the big pot of vegetables. After that wash and slice the mushrooms
and add them to the vegetables in the big pot. Then add water and cook the
vegetables until they are soft. Add the chicken bouillon, and spices, and stir
the vegetables with the water.
The chicken
bouillon is optional, but you can add salt. But you can eliminate the salt in
this recipe depending on your taste preference. Continue adding water to both
pots. Peel and slice onions. Wash and slice radishes and lemons. After that
turn off the stove and serve the vegetable soup.
Add the yucca
root to the rest of the vegetable soup bowls. Place the radishes and lemon
slices on the side. Put onion slices inside the soup to give it a surprise
flavor. However, the raw onion slices are optional. This vegetable soup serves
two or four people.
Although this
vegetable soup will not get rid of your sinus infection, it is a comforting
soup to eat. This soup might take two hours to make but your family will love
consuming this soup. You can add toasted bread with butter or saltine crackers
if you want to eat it with this vegetable soup. Additionally, you can make half
of a sandwich to serve on the side with the vegetable soup. No matter how you
eat this vegetable soup, you can enjoy the flavors and the aroma of the
vegetables.
