National Month of Hope

Since 1991 Mothers in Crisis gave support and provided information for preventing and intervening in drug use recovery to women. This organization, Mothers in Crisis did a campaign for hope by encouraging families with inspirational stories to help them heal from addictions. Then in 2018 National Month of Hope was declared in April to promote knowledge and an understanding of hope in a global aspect. You can inspire others by doing acts of kindness, sharing your stories of hope, and sending inspirational quotes to others. Even if you or someone you know is not going through an addiction, you can still motivate someone with hopeful messages on social media, text messages, or in your e-mails.

Although National Month of Hope began for addiction recovery, it can also be applied in other areas of life. The first Wednesday of April is called “National Day of Hope.” This day is to remember the children that die from abuse and neglect. Yet, there is hope for abuse and neglect to decrease among children. One-day child abuse and neglect will end; In the meantime, educate yourself, prevent, and say something if you suspect or have seen child abuse and neglect.

The National Month of Hope can also be a splendid time for doing volunteer work. Do not forget about yourself when it comes to hope. Hope is a strong emotion that is worthy to have in life because it is a motivator for continuing with your projects. Also, it makes you feel inspired with optimism for your health, relationships, friendships, and socializing. Read quotes about hope and write them down in your journal before going out or before going to sleep.

You can additionally have hope in your spiritual or religious life which makes you feel more uplifted and calmer. There is nothing wrong with having hope and believing that everything will be fixed, repaired, or solved in the future. It makes you trust in your intuition and trust yourself more. Without hope, it makes it difficult to be optimistic about yourself and others. Awful events are temporary, and hope alleviates you by making you believe in possibilities.

Moreover, be realistic when having hope. Work on your negative thoughts and your negative attitude which is not easy for you depending on your attachment style. It is easier to feel hopeless and anxious about the present or your future. Make little reminders in your journal or your notebook about your abilities, successes, and your talents. Keep motivating yourself and others.

Furthermore, you can have hope for a better future and a cure for diseases. You can donate to cancer research, Alzheimer's awareness, and other charities. If you are recovering from an addiction, do not lose hope. Purchase a hope poster or print out a hope image to frame in your office. Look at your hope poster or hope picture when you are feeling hopeless.

Continue feeling hope even when you feel that it is not enough for you. Control your anxieties and your negativity with a professional behavioral counselor or a psychologist. Be yourself and keep feelings of hope to guide you to your destination. It is never too late to develop hope in your lifestyle.
