Celebrate National Sing Out Day & Yoga Tips

Every year on May 25th is National Sing Out Day. It is a day to sing, to have fun, and to reduce your stress. Singing is calm and can make you slow down to enjoy the day. As well as making you recover from your physical and emotional healing process. Although there are songs that are difficult to sing due to the high music notes, you can participate by singing the refrain.

Singing can be uplifting. Always consult with your primary care physician about side effects from medications that prevent you from singing. Nonetheless, practicing to sing can be helpful for relaxation and mental clarity. Meditating and singing at the same time has a calming affect. Inhale and exhale as you sing the first three words of a song.

You can meditate with music and sing two times each week. Take care of your voice especially if it is raspy in the mornings. In the mornings, ensure that you have a good posture for standing, sitting, and before doing a Yoga pose. Next, make sure your allergies do not bother you before you start meditating. After that, do a Lion pose which can help you relax before you sing.

Practice Vocal Yoga with a professional Yoga instructor. Do research and practice doing Yoga before you sing. After doing Yoga poses, you can sing the singing scale. If you still feel nervous, excitement, or have doubts about singing; You can continue doing mind and body exercises before singing. Stretching your body before warming your vocals can be helpful.

Sing in front of a mirror and move your body. Before you practice Yoga and before you sing, ensure that the room is clean. Dust and clean the air with a humidifier. Do Yoga poses and practice the bee hum while doing any standing Yoga pose. Listen to yourself hum before you gently move to a Warrior pose.

Stop humming if your throat begins to hurt. Take breaks from humming by chanting a mantra as you kneel or sit. Play a rain stick, drums, bongos, or chimes before you hum a tune. After that do a bridge pose, fish pose, palm tree pose, and move with the music that you hear. Always consult with your primary doctor before doing Vocal Yoga.

Other poses such as Eagle Arms, Cat and Cow pose, Pigeon pose, and the chair pose can all help you relax. Remember to do breathing techniques such as Alternate Nostril Breathing, Box Breathing, and breathing slowly before singing one word. While you are sitting and doing a sitting pose, you can hum a tune or listen to a song while you are humming it. Stay hydrated and drink water in the morning before singing a song.
