Professional Wellness Month 2026 & Work Tips
Every year in June is Professional Wellness Month. It is essential to keep track of your mental wellness when you are at work and after work. Often neglecting your mental wellness at work can make you feel disconnected, doubtful, sad, nervous, angry, or a mix of emotions when you come home. Understanding your work stress and managing your emotions is helpful for your overall wellness. Avoid distractions at work and set boundaries.
Develop a professional wellness planner to schedule breaks for your mental and physical wellness. Have reminders to eat healthier and to avoid overeating at work. Consult with your primary care doctor if you are overeating or eating less at work. As well as making a plan to incorporate exercises before or after work. Limit your boundaries with employees that have toxic communication with you and other employees.
Do evaluate your friendships at work and your social connections. Review your communication at work and learn to improve your communication with employees. Bring an understanding of professional wellness month by wearing green, teal, or lime green. Have a list of work boundaries and remind yourself to follow your list of boundaries. Share your experiences, joy,and gratitude with others before work meetings.
Always consult with Human Resources for any doubts or work concerns especially if it affects your mental, physical, and emotional wellness. Give anonymous feedback or suggestions to your supervisor especially if something needs improvement at work. If your job offers workshops, first aid classes, or mental wellness and prevention of work burnout; Do participate and get involved in learning more about professional wellness month. Also if your job offers information about time management, do get enough information for your work productivity. Lastly, do not neglect your time off and have communication boundaries during work off-hours.
If you share things in common with other employees, do motivate and celebrate each other's successes. Give out thank you cards, flowers, or souvenirs from your vacations. Also, design a wellness t-shirt to wear at work. Create a professional wellness week in June or during the last week of June. Have an appreciation paper tree on a wall with positive affirmations or quotes to help everyone to read them during work breaks.
Another way is to have an hour of Tai Chi, Yoga, or a walking session after work. Decorate the employees lunch room with green paper hearts, green paper flowers, or green paper leaves to write words of encouragement to all the employees. Listen to uplifting music and write on the employees appreciation tree. Do speak to someone or a therapist about your overall wellness. Finally write what you like about your job and use work journal prompts for your journaling.
Keep your work boundaries after work and practice self-reflection, self-care, and self-discover yourself beyond your career skills. Establish a routine to do after work to help you relax. Go out with employees that are your friends and have fun activities to do after work.
