Reset & Letting Go (National Start Over Day)

Every year on June 5th is National Start Over Day. It is a day to reflect on starting over with an open mind about changing careers, making new friendships, or with new relationships. As well as making it a day to encourage you to do journaling, vision boards, or having reminders to believe in yourself when it comes to new adventures. Although it is difficult to start over again without worrying about whether it is a good decision, it is best to stay calm and to continue making decisions for your personal growth. Manage your emotions to help you with your personal growth.

To understand your personal growth, you can practice self-awareness, self-reflection, self-respect, and self-improvement. Focus on yourself without judgement and letting others bad comments affect your overall wellness. Have a journal with tabs, labels, or with binder clips to divide your journal. Create a section in your journal for emotions. Be honest with yourself and write your emotions to understand your personal growth.

Another way is to write your emotions in one word in one column. Then, write an affirmation for that emotion in the second column. In the third column, write your strengths and how it has helped with your personal growth. Ask yourself questions about your personal growth and your personal career growth. Identify what needs to be changed or if it cannot be changed so you can manage your emotions.

Practice self-understanding about your behavioral actions, reactions, and decisions. You cannot always understand yourself. But it is recommended to write in your journal for clarity and to practice meditation for clarity. After you identify healthy relationships and unhealthy relationships including habits, do practice breathing techniques before writing about starting over in your journal. Lastly, practice gratitude through meditation, mindfulness, Tai Chi, Yoga, or other mind and body exercises.

Self-understanding for your emotional personal growth can be useful for not feeling bad about yourself because of your actions and reactions. Knowing your fears, your difficulties, and improving yourself without jumping to conclusions about yourself. Being persistent with developing healthier habits and letting go of the past can be one way to accept starting over again with your personal growth. Practice journaling daily as well as self-reflection, self-discovery, and self-improvement without thinking about your failures, mistakes, and uncontrollable circumstances of life. Do build self-trust, self-confidence, and with self-persistence.

Keep a set of positive affirmations for motivation. Never lose your motivation. Have reminders to stay motivated and a vision board so you can see it before looking for a job. Additionally, have a list of qualities that you like when you are ready to start dating someone. Practice affirmations daily and here is a brief list.

  1. I release past relationships and welcome a new horizon of possibilities.
  2. I am open to a new relationship without having doubts.
  3. I release a painful past relationship and welcome a relationship with curiosity and self-respect.
  4. I am open to the opportunity of having a relationship with someone who shares my values, my hobbies, and is ready to listen to me.
  5. I released my old job for a better job with appreciation, adaptability, and with optimism.
  6. I choose a new job that is stable, has an opportunity for career growth, and brings me joy.
  7. I chose a new job that understands me and all employees that want to help others.
  8. I chose a new dating relationship that makes me feel more joyful and makes me feel good about myself.
  9. I am open to opportunities, and I am ready to start over again with a smile.
  10. I am ready to start over again with gratitude, forgiveness, and with my partner as we share our dreams together.

National Starting Over Day can help you to remain the same person but also have an open mindset about opportunities. To have meaningful goals and not to achieve goals because of peer pressure, competition, or comparisons to your siblings or to other family members. Often reducing your fears, your worries, and your stress with a therapist can be one way to feel better about starting over. Yet it is also recommended to accept change when it comes to changing careers or with a new dating relationship. Here are more websites with more tips about starting over.
