Limit your Cell Phone Use

One of the causes of anxiety can be the use of social media on your cell phone. However, there are ways to reduce your stress from social media. First, turn off your cell phone for thirty or forty minutes a day which will allow you to relax, to feel less anxious, and to make better decisions. Second, take a walk outdoors for thirty or forty minutes and give some time for yourself to unwind. It might not be easy at first but making a habit of turning off your cell phone for a few minutes a day will allow you to relax.

Another way is to set a time frame for disconnecting yourself from social media. For one hour, work on your favorite hobbies, exercise, meditate, or do Yoga. Spend time with your friends and family members. Turn off your cell phone notifications and silent your cell phone. Delete cell phone apps you no longer use or apps you don’t use frequently.

Also, place your cell phone in another room for one hour or place a basket on a corner of your desk. Do not think about your cell phone or who might call you. Another way is to use a cell phone app that blocks you from using your social media sites and limits your time from using those apps. In addition, you can use the “Do Not Disturb” feature on your cell phone where you can set a time limit for not receiving notifications. Overall, you will feel less stressed, less negative, and less overwhelmed. Here are more resources about limiting yourself from using your cell phone.
