Decluttering is always stressful. It brings sentimental feelings and thoughts especially if you are decluttering while in the mourning process. Also, if you are not mourning but need to create more space in a room, you still feel disorganized. You procrastinate without thinking about organizing that specific room in your home. It is necessary to declutter for your mental health, your comfort level, and for keeping your home safe for your family.
For some people decluttering can be easy without thinking about the sentimental value. While other people find it difficult to declutter because of the happiness from the past. Additionally being disorganized can make them feel depressed and nervous, and hold onto the past. Yet this brings more pain and difficulty to let go of material items. It is necessary to declutter for your peace of mind and to make a room more useful.

However, if you are not into making crafts, you can donate clothes and other items to thrift stores. If you are decluttering a child's bedroom, keep one or two stuffed animals to decorate their room.
Clean, dust, and organize a cluttered room without keeping everything. Some family members might want to keep a loved one's items for sentimental reasons. As long as they appreciate the items and it is in good hands. Decluttering usually takes one or two days depending on the size and space of the room. If decluttering takes more time, you can pay someone for professional cleaning.
Similarly, you can pay family members to help you declutter a room. One person can shred paper and organize your office desk. Another person can organize the kitchen, the closet, or small spaces that are disorganized. Also, another person can make a bin to sell items online or do a garage sale.
