National Garden Meditation Day

Every May 3rd is National Garden Meditation Day. This day is meant for you to slow down. Additionally, to appreciate everything that is in your garden and life. Meditate in your garden while you listen to the birds. Listen to your wind chimes as the wind blows and do breathing exercises.

Look at your favorite flowers and smell them. Write about the feelings that come to your mind in your journal as you sit in the grass of your garden. Walk in your garden at a slow pace, pull out any weeds, water your plants, and stay quiet. Draw or sketch your flowers in your garden. Paint on a canvas while you see your garden.

Meditate while holding a flower. Use the words, thank you as you inhale and exhale. Drink your hot tea or lemonade as you put flowers in pots or on a vase. Focus on your flowers without thinking about anything else. Listen to classical music or instrumental music while you look in your garden.

Practice mindfulness while you blow bubbles, ride a bicycle, or run in your garden. Do yoga in your garden. Dance in your garden. Enjoy your time in your garden and feel serene. Take care of your flowers and plants without having any worries.

Observe the birds and butterflies in your garden. Take pictures of what you see in your garden. Paint rocks and decorate your garden with painted rocks. Do a mosaic, a puzzle, or a crossword puzzle while in your garden. Feel the serenity in your garden while your children make art with chalk.

Name each flower and feel grateful while you spend time in your garden. Let positive and peaceful thoughts stay in your mind. If you have fruits and vegetables in your garden, practice gratitude for what your garden has harvested. See your garden with compassion, gratitude, and with peace.
