Family Fit Lifestyle Month
can be practiced each week by adding an exercise activity. For example,
practicing Yoga poses, stretching, and Tai Chi. Additionally, adding jogging,
running, swimming, or dancing can be useful to vary the exercise routine. Besides
that, select music that the entire family likes before exercising. Purchase
comfortable exercise clothing and shoes.
Have a corner in your room
with jump ropes, ankle skip ball, hula hoops, a trampoline, yoga mat, and
dancing card games. Another way to motivate everyone to exercise is by learning
to Square Dance, Swing, Charleston, Disco dancing, or other quick dances. Use a
calendar, exercise bingo cards, or an exercise chart as a reminder to keep your
body moving. Practice dancing with comfortable shoes or with fitted flat shoes.
Additionally, have a dance party or dance for one hour during the weekends.
Hang a stretching guide in
the room where you exercise. Also, if you exercise in your garden, you can do
chair exercises, Yoga, Tai Chi, or paint and dance at the same time. Purchase a
painting easel and place it in a shaded area. Play music and begin dancing as
you paint. As well as using finger paints or splash paint on paper or on canvas
to make abstract art.
Another way is by combining
the game body language and various dances to exercise. Create dance teams in
your family by dancing and doing Karaoke. Practice Line dance and develop a
family dance. Ensure everyone is safe and enjoys one hour of dancing or other
exercises. Avoid competing but do learn from each other while exercising.
At first it might be
challenging especially if you have low energy, allergies, or another health
condition. Do have a table with water, electrolyte drinks, juice, and granola
bars especially if you have low sugar. If you get a headache from exercising,
stop to rest and stay hydrated. Always consult with your medical physician
