Night Poetry, Emotions, and Object Personification
Writing
object personification in poetry can often be challenging. Yet, it can be
difficult to write one’s thoughts on paper, especially if you must write about
a specific object. However, selecting a theme for the object can make it easier
to write about it. In the first example, the night sky and the stars were my
inspiration for writing about object personification. However, write about
nature, your senses, or other thoughts as your writing process.
Experimenting
with various sentences, reading it aloud, and adding feelings to objects can
make the poems more descriptive. Yet, writing about feelings, emotions, and
experiences can make you reflect on the inanimate objects from another
perspective. In the second poem example, metal binder clips were the
inspiration for poetry personification of objects. The poem can be funny,
serious, or in any form of tone. Nonetheless, have fun writing various poems of
object personification.
Keep in mind
how you want the poem to sound. Also, be aware of the writing styles and your
overall perspective about the objects. Focus on one theme. Understand your
thoughts and understand who will read it. Set aside your doubts about writing
and free form poetry to help you write your thoughts.
To write
poetry with object personification, look at the object. Ask yourself how the
object makes you feel. Also, what does the object remind you and write about it.
Next, draft your poem by writing your responses to your questions. Re-read your
poem.
You can also
use writing prompts. Additionally, you can close your eyes and think about the
object if it were animated. Open your eyes and write slowly about what you are
feeling. Another way is by drawing the object as an art animator. After you
draw the object, write about your drawing.
Practice
writing object personification and adding drawings to it. Another way is to
write your poem into a story that you wrote in your journal. Your children can
also participate in writing object personification by using colors, sound
effects, or other writing elements. Nevertheless, practice poetry appreciation
and have fun sharing poetry. Here are websites about object personification in
poetry.
