Reading during the winter season can be fun. Sometimes you might find it tough to find time to read during your traveling. Begin by finding a comfortable area to read while you are on your vacation. Another recommendation is not to get distracted while you read in your hotel room. Nonetheless, reading winter themes can help you appreciate this wonderful season.

If you are traveling, select books with maps and stories your children might like to read. Also, you can select story books that your children can create maps as they continue reading. Make hot chocolate and read together. Read one chapter per day and let your children read to you. Last, select books with holiday themes and make a reading area with winter decorations.

Winter reading increases relaxation and can help you improve your sleep. Have a winter theme blanket and read before you go to sleep. It might be hard to fall asleep in the hotel room especially if you had a heavy meal. Yet, reading can help you relax and wait for your meal to digest. As well as helping you to feel comfortable in your hotel room.

Read for one or two hours before going to sleep. If you are reading with your child, read for thirty minutes or one hour. If your child is beginning to read, they can read for fifteen minutes aloud. Make paper snowflakes, make snowmen, or other winter themes that are found in your story books. Read the story book before watching the movie.

Also, color bookmarks or make paper bookmarks with the words found in the story books. Use a notebook and have your child write words that they find in the book. Make a fill in the blank worksheet with words found in the book. Additionally, keep track of the books that your child reads and encourage them to read. As well as having a monthly calendar and a reading chart for drawing stars or adding check marks.

If you are reading at home, create a comfortable reading area, and have enough lighting. Use winter theme quotes and frame them. As well as using quotes about reading to encourage your child to read. Make a winter reading list and celebrate your child's reading progress. Read foreign language books, especially if your child is learning a second or third language at home.

Use a dry erase board to write down words or definitions to words that your child does not understand. Another way for your child to learn words is by using sticky notes or index cards. Glue pictures or draw pictures on one side of the index card and write the words on the other side of the index card. Another idea is for your child to write a review after they have read their book. Additionally, you can make a matching word game with definitions.

Take two or three books with you if you are traveling. Let your child select one book and use book tabs. Label the book tabs for each chapter. Decorate a tote bag and use the tote bag to carry your books. Then, read in the morning or at night.

Make reading fun during the winter season and during their school break. Decorate a notebook cover page with a winter theme. Write down their winter reading book titles on the first page of the notebook. In the rest of the pages, let them write words found from the books or a summary after reading each chapter.
